Legoland and Sea Life Aquarium? Do or don't?

Hey everyone!

We are going to be in the DL area this weekend and have a weekend day free for Legoland. I have a "kid admission free" ticket that I would like to be able to use, and we have never been there...

What is it like there? Should we go to the park first, then the aquarium? Do they have touch tanks for sting rays, and so on?

How long is needed for each place? It will be my 6 year old and I tackling Legoland!

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Six sounds like the perfect age for Legoland so I think your DD should have fun. I've never been to the aquarium so I can't answer any questions about that. I thought I saw some reviews awhile back that sounded like it was okay but it's definitely for little kids (again, 6 is probably a good age). Maybe if you google "sealife aquarium review" you'll find something. I have't seen very much talk about it on the disboards. Have a fun trip!

We will be there Monday with DS (10 and a Lego maniac) and DD (8). Check tripadvisor.com for reviews. Very positive reviews there.

We've been to the aquarium twice. Great for younger kids. My just turned into a teenager still enjoyed it in Aug. It likely took us an hour or so to go thru. If you're already at LL it is worth checking out. All displays are at kid level and there is a huge walk thru tank that is impressive.
I would do the aquarium first so that once you get into LL you won't have to convince a 6 yr old that you're leaving, only if it is next door.

Actually I'd do the reverse - Legoland lines are amazingly slow, so it's really important to get there early to get on the slowest lines first - like the sky ride ( bike type ride ). Even though it doesn't get that crowded usually the turnaround time on the rides is really slow.

I'd save the Aquarium for the afternoon.

I agree. Do Legoland first, then the aquarium in the afternoon. Take a swimsuit for your kids and a ziplock to put the wet things in. The water play areas are great, but you don't want uncomfortable kids all day. I suggest do as many rides in the morning before the park gets busy, then the water areas and lunch then hit the aquarium. You can walk around and look at lego structures after the aquarium. You can do almost everything in one day if you get there early.

We went to Legoland on a saturday in may. The aquarium was just a walk though for us, it took less than an hour to see everything.

Legoland was fun (make sure you get a park map, so you dont miss anything), but we saw everything in one afternoon.

They have a touch tank, but it's just sea stars, nothing big like rays. I have only been to the SeaLife Aquarium, and not to Legoland, so I don't know how long that one takes, but the aquarium doesn't take that long. It has really nice exhibits but it is small. I went there once to check it out prior to applying for a job there and it took me less than 20 minutes to see everything. With a young child, doing all of the interactive activities, you could stretch it out, but I'm sure it wouldn't take longer than an hour, and that's if you really stop and pause at every location, reading all the signs, etc.
