legoland and san diego zoo safari- need HELP!!

LOVE the info i received for my many trips to disneyland and wdw but now my 13 yr old wants to go to legoland for her bd!! so need help planning since i've never been (she went with her dad ages ago)

some questions

how many days for legoland?

any dining tips?

where to stay?

fast pass option available?

tips/suggestions for san diego safari park - is the overnight in a tent good?

Legoland - one or two days. If you plan to visit their aquarium and new waterpark, plan on two days. If you want to check out other things in Carlsbad, you should add on a day. Legoland hadn't had any fastpasses when I was there last - a few years ago.

The Legoland website will show the close by hotels. The sheraton and Grand Palisades are very close and will be nice.

Safari Park - if it isn't a place that you normally visit, the overnight will be great. The park gets very hot during the day, so being able to enjoy it after the sun goes down will be refreshing. Another fun offering there is the photo caravan. It drives into the large exhibit and allows you to touch and feed the animals.
