Anyone else on as lego watch? That is pretty much all my son wants for christmas. LAst year between, toys r us, amazon and target I bought a ton of sets. This year I haven;t seen any great deals. Am I missing something?

I'm on lego watch too! Toys r us had a sale, maybe a month ago, buy 2 get 1 free. I haven't seen any good sales since then. I'm hoping the sales that come out on Sunday have something good ... I don't really want to hold out until after black friday. I'm interested to see what others are predicting ... did tru offer the buy 2 get 1 sale closer to Christmas last year?

I bought at the TRU sale in Sept/Oct of buy 2 get 1 free. Some stores have some sales coming up for BF: I think Kmart is buy 2 get 1, Target has some good discounts on some particular sets, so that is good IF those are the sets you are looking for.

I also went online to Lego.com and purchased a bunch of parts to make guys from their pick a brick section -- my guys LOVE the little guys, so there are never enough of those! The loose bricks are pretty inexpensive as far as legos go. I also purchased the pirate tic tac toe game from Lego.com -- comes w/10 guys and kids can play tic tac toe and play w/the extra guys.

I would expect that TRU would have another buy 2 get 1 free Lego sale before Christmas....but, who knows!!!!

I was really frustrated w/the price of Legos, but it does provide hours and hours of play....so I have come to accept that the price of Legos is just one of the things we just have suck it up for in life!!

Yes they do end up being well worth it. My 7 year old will play with them for hours which to me is way better then tv or video games. i just like to get the most bang for my buck:laughing: I It just doesnt look like much on christmas morning even though I know I spent a fortune.

I've seen them on the Wal-Mart website under rollbacks. They were $16.88. Just do a search on Walmart.com and a BUNCH will come up.:thumbsup2

Yikes, sorry, I thought you meant you were looking for a Lego Watch. <blush>

This is just a guess but following years past TRU has NOT had a buy 2 get 1 free any time past the last week of September/first week of October.

Hopefully with the economy the way it is they'll run something like that but I am not holding out for it. I have noticed many more lego deals of some sort this year from them though. Usually a buy this get this free. Or up to about 25% off of some sets.

I also got in on that awesome Space Skulls deal....and have been haunting the Lego Sales and Deals page....of course the sales and deals have been lame ever since!

I was at TRU this am and that diabolical Lego company has released MORE of the Space Police set...a few that are not even on the website....so if you are looking for that line, there's more (new guys rench and squidtron)!!!

Cassie714, you are right....they should come in gigantic boxes for what we pay so that tree is stuffed!!!

Best around here you can do on Legos it at Borders. If you have a borders members card, its free and you can sign up in store or on web, they send you 1 or 2 emails each week. The emails usually have a 30% sometimes 40% coupon. It might say for a book, but I have never had them not take it for anything. The will let you use 1 per item so you can print out multiple coupons. They don't have a huge selection, but they have some of the Lego City, Star Wars, Pirates, Bionicles and some others. Even the advant calendar, shucks I paid $30 at the Lego store in DTD in Oct and I could have used a coupon and got it for $21. Right now, until Monday, if you spend $25 in toys you get a free Bionicle, but right now all my coupons are expired. Oh, they also have the Star Wars Lego book, bought with coupon, and a great Pirates and something else book/set that has some Legos and directions for building multiple items from them.

ALDI had a few sets on sale for $15 each (Star Wars cruisers) a few weeks ago. I kind of doubt they are still available.

I did the paypal deal last BF from TRU for a lego set. I think it was like $25 off or $20.. cannot remember. Im waiting to see what happens as I will be buying 2 sets that will be right around $100. I did get the skull set that I will give to ds. He likes pretty much everything but star wars are his favorite. I bought the transportation set at costco for $29.99 and that was a great deal since it is $39.99 everywhere else..

Today at Micheal's craft store I saw Lego books. One was Pirates and one was Castle. It included a container of Legos and then a book that showed how to build all sorts of themed vehicles or buildings. It was $25 but you can use your 40% off coupons. I had not seen those book sets before an thought they were really cute!

Count me in for looking for lego deals - it is pretty much all that is on my 11 year old DS's list. (along with a laptop and xbox....which isn't happening!)

Micheal's coupons do not apply to books....which is a shame. They have some nice American girl books and book/craft/hair kits too.

Holy Crap! I checked out some of the prices on sets that kiddo wants - there is a FOUR HUNDRED dollar Hogwarts lego castle...

FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS!

yeah...that isn't under our tree.....

I, foolishly, picked up that set last year (from Order of the Phoenix and NOT at that price!!) and it was assembled and over time has completely disappeared into our Legos. Occasionally I see Dumbledore's beard. I should have sold that set on Amazon last year!

So, lesson learned: since it is inevitable that the big sets will become incorporated into our "general building pile" ( I have tried seperate containers for sets, different locations....somehow these thing need to migrate and intermingle!)....anyway, I am now buying smaller sets of a whole line...one son is getting "transportation" themed kits and the other the Space Police. Both have many options at reasonable prices. I plan to wrap each box and tie the whole pile together with a snazzy ribbon.

Have any of you done the Lego Brickmaster club?
We really enjoyed it this year. It was $39.95 and every other month you get a Lego magazine which included little comic strips in Star Wars or Indiana Jones type themes, photos of Lego Creations other kids have made, and directions for building new things based on sets you may already have at ahome
It also includes a set of Legos every other month. The sets are probably worth $15 (if paying regular price in the stores). They are for sure bigger than the small $10 sets, but not quite as big as the $20+ sets. We saved my son's this year and he is getting them all at Christmas.

You don't get to pick your sets but this year he got:
Star Wars x2
Lego City
Bionicles

the sets are not sold elsewhere. I know in January the next set is Atlantis.

Just throwing that out there-we found it to be a good deal and my son really liked getting the magazines in the mail. :goodvibes

(oh it also includes a free ticket to Legoland in CA which we did use last year)

borders right now has a deal that if you buy 2 $25.00 gift cards you get a free $10.00 card. Then if you use the borders coupons on top of that you end up with a REALLY good deal!

I am also on watch.

My so wants the Toy story legos that come out on Jan. 1. My husband says he should get a santa letter stating elle elf broke her hand and is behind on the legos so watch the mail. I am ot sure how this would go over with a 5 year old.
