Lego Surprise Minifigure rant

I have been buying these for my kids so they can all get a set for Christmas. It's bad enough a set of 16 ran me $47 at $2.98 each but I found ones I needed at TRU last night and they changed the price from $2.98 last week to $4.99 !!!! That is just outrageous !! Lego.com has them for $1.99 I questioned the price change at the service desk and they said corporate changed the prices... well corporate is going to hear from me today !! $5 for one guy !!!

Target had them in the halloween treat section about two weeks ago for 1.99. That is a huge price jump!

Did you pay that price? Unless you walked out and purchased them for the lower price on line, you did exactly what TRU wanted consumers to do: buy them and permit them to make more money.

Free market. Stores can charge what they want and consumers are free to buy or not.

I did not buy them. I told them how I felt about the new price and left them on the counter.

I WILL NOT pay that price and I do plan on writing to corporate to let them know what I think about their price jump.

From the day they changed their return policy a few years ago, I quit shopping there.

Target raised their prices too, from $1.99 to $2.99 and I thought that was bad. I can't believe TRU wants $5 for them

At my TRU on Sat. they were 2.99 and yesterday they were 3.99!

Lego.com still has them for $1.99 online. The only problem is you could get all the same ones.

I ordered 16 (the limit) and out of those 5 were the same, and another 3 were the same. I ended up getting the ones I was missing from here, but be sure to search for "new sealed in package"

OMG that is horrible and highway robbery! I discovered these when they were $2.99 at target so i got a bunch at that price but $5?! no way! TRU is bad enough with their crazy prices. I only shop there when i have to.

And here that was my plan for stocking stuffers this year....

I got them at TRU for $2.99, buy 2 get 1 free during the sale a few weeks back. Too bad I only bought 3!!

NO WAY , thank goodness I bought before they upped the price . I would never pay 2.99 for them.

TRU always has horrid prices. Even their sales. Jack the price up, lower it...still above the local Fred Meyer (Kroger) most of the time, and I don't earn rewards like I do with FM, because I never buy THAT much in the given period of time for TRU rewards.

I never order from them because of the shipping, but I am getting closer and closer to doing it and prob will if they put out another series of mini figures.

Sell your extras on Ebay. I got a couple of extra vampire figures last month and sold them in eBay for over $5 each. If you hold onto them a little longer, you may be able to get more for them. No one even has them anymore around here. The Lego store sold out the first week it seems and dealers buy them up at TRU as soon as they come in. The Lego store is the only place I have seen them for $1.99. All other store were $2.99 or more.

My Target was not $1.99, but $2.99 - I think it depends on area.
