How do the prices at the lego store in down town disney compare to those at toys r us?

I don't think Lego let their prices drop at any stores. It's pretty much the same across the board. However I did notice that the online Lego store actually was cheaper (by one whole dollar) on a few products, in comparison to ToysRus online, which seemed odd. Obviously the box stores do have special offers from time to time, but I believe you will find Lego prices pretty consistent. So don't worry that the Lego store in DTD will be way more expensive.

The very best part about the DTD Lego store is that they have a huge wall of bins containing individual pieces.
You can fill a cup with any of the pieces for $12.95. You can fill a green tub for $100. If you fill the bin right you can do very well. We have spent 2 hours filling the green bin.

The selection of pieces can change daily.

The Legos are the same prices as in stores...However,they also have some discontinued items or banged up boxes at nice sale prices. Also, they have 2 different sized containters that you can stuff w/loose bricks and accessories for a flat fee (around $6.95 and $12.95). They also have a rewards card. We really like this store...love the Legos and the outdoor play area and building stations. Plan on spending hours there!

Yup what they all said. It is usually the same prices. We just got a banged up box and got 20% off! We love that store. We just went and got home last night. They have a play area to build cars and then race them. My kids LOVED it!!

They are the same. LEGO uses M.A.P. (manufacturer's approved pricing) with all retailers other than their own store, much like Bose audio systems and Honda with their mowers.

We have found some good prices before with their sales and clearance items. The other items are the same as other stores though.

The only extra cost would be sales tax, which is high in FL vs at your home Toys R Us (depending on where you live of course). Online-you have to take in to consideration shipping charges. My son CAN"T wait to get back to the Lego store in DTD. Like the others have said, you can spend hours there. We love that they have hard to find items (plan on getting the RC construction train set next trip which we have never seen around us).

Anyone remember the Lego monorail? I have that one in a box somewhere with 100s of other sets. It'd be so cool if they made a disney lego monorail.
