Lego store at DTD question.

I don't think so. They are not really affiliated with Disney. I know the feeling, I have bionicles lined up across my floor, and we had to buy the bionicle movie yesterday too.

I don't know either. My son (age 11) has been saving his money waiting for the Lego Store at DTD in Disneyland. However, we're surprising him and going to WDW this year for the first time. We had to get the Bionicle Movie the day it came out and he has been watching it as much as he can. He can't wait to spend his money at the Lego Store. Does anyone know if LEGO won't take Disney Dollars, can you trade them in at WDW for cash?

My DS will be 11 next week and is a fanatic about Bionicle. They are indeed all over the house....guarding us. lol He has begged us every day about he Bionicle movie since it came out, but we're trying hard not to give it to him, because it's one of his birthday gifts, along with all of the newest Bionicles.

Visiting the Lego store in DTD is one of the things he's most looking forward to when we visit DW in December. I hope they do take Disney dollars.

I can't remember if the Lego Store took DD, but we traded some of our DDs at the AS Sports resort where we were staying with no problem at all, dollar for dollar. We were really impressed with the Lego figures there..took lots of pics (they even have a giant bionicle guy!!), but my kids didn't find anything out of the ordinary to buy that we couldn't find at our local Walmart or Kmart (for much cheaper). Was still fun to visit, tho!

Just thought I'd pass this along.....we were at the Lego store on 9/13, and they had lots of stuff on sale. I guess they were the older kits, but they had Bionicle stuff on sale - the individual ones were 3 for $7. We got DS a set that was originally $50 for $13, and there was another one originally for $70 that was on sale for $20. Hope you get to enjoy some sales when you're there.

(There were other things on sale too - I got my younger DS a Bob the Builder set for $4. I think it was originally $16.)

Last time we were there with a nephew (Jan 2002) I am sure he used his DD to pay.

If by chance they don't accept DD's, you should be able to go to the Guest Services office in DTD and exchange DD's for cash. Check the directory for the location. Its tucked away on the side of one of the buildings and many people don't realize its there. You can buy park passes there too. We usually stop there on our arrival day to get our passes so we don't have to wait in line the next morning at one of the parks.

Thanks, guys.

I'm sure the sale was meant to clear the shelves for the toys from the new movie. My timing is off yet again!

I found this thread through a search. Did any of you find out if Disney Dollars could be used at the Lego store? My DS10 loves Lego's & Bionicles!

Thanks!

Melissa R,

Do you remember seeing any Galidors there? We have been looking for them everywhere and the The Lego Store is my last hope. Well, that and ebay. Just thought I'd check and see if you remember seeing them. Thanks! :wave2:

My DD loves Bionicles too, but we never buy them at the Lego store. They're much cheaper at Target.

I LOVE Target & I do get all DS's Bionicle & Lego stuff there that I can. It's just that, from my experience at Legoland, you can find things there that you won't find at Target or Toys-R-Us. ;)

PS - last year when we went so So. Cal., by kids chose Legoland instead of DL!!! We granted them their wish since Legoland is geared to 12 & under. ......They can enjoy DL (or now WDW!!!) until they are old & gray. :p

You can buy Galinors and other Legos online at http://www.lego.com/eng/

Enjoy!

And when at DTW LS make sure to check out the incredible lego figures all over the place. The Sea Dragon in my favorite!

Yes, all the stores in DD will take disney dollars. We were just there on our last trip. 10/30-11/09. No trip is complete for my 8yr daughter without a trip to lego. Yes they still had bionicle things on sale. Pens 2.99, key chains, stickers and may sets under 6.00. Also there are two giant bionicles made of legos at the enterance of the store, about five and half feet tall. Took some great pictures of her standing next to them. You can even buy drinks at the stands outside with Disney dollars.
