Leftovers

Another stupid question, but since this is Disney, I'm assuming they have their own rules.

If you go to dinner at a sit down restaurant, table service, and can't finish your meal, can you take your leftovers back to your room?

I'm thinking I may not have room for dessert, but it's covered on my meal plan, so I may want to bring it back to the room for breakfast or to eat after fireworks.

I'm assuming leftovers at buffets can't be brought home, like a regular hometown buffet.

But if you're paying for your meal with the dining plan, I wonder if they treat it like a buffet and don't let you take home your leftovers.

I know, stupid question, but got to ask.

We'll be staying at the Contemporary, and I don't know if we'll have a fridge or microwave in the room, but dessert should be fine overnight.

At Contemporary, you should have a mini fridge. You can take your leftovers with you. I have even had some servers give me large soda to go at no extra cost (obviously their tip reflected this).

I take food back sometimes, only problem for me is you can't heat it up.

Yes you can! By the end of our trip we had a whole stack of those individual carrot cakes and chocolate cakes in the little plastic containers lol

While eating at the set down resturants in any of the parks, I have asked and been told no, you cannot leftovers with you, liberty tree, Hollywood &vine, brown derby, Lecellier, rose & crown, garden Grill, to name few, don't know why. Just have.

I wonder why they told you no. :confused3 The only place I have asked and received a to go container for my left overs (besides dessert which is freqent) is Le Cellier. They couldn't package it for me but they gave me a container.

The restaurants that I have bolded are either buffets or family style all you can eat places. None of these type of restaurants permit leftovers to be packed up to go. I have never been refused this courtesy at ANY of the a la carte TS restaurants, and have frequently had our wait person ask if we wanted our leftovers packaged to take with us.

We have taken dessert to go a few time but nothing more. For us its just too big a hassle. We hate to carry anything and unless you are going back to the room right after dinner you have to worry about spoilage. We use WDW transportation and do not want to have to carry food and maybe have to stand on the buses. Guess the biggest reason it we just do not need to keep leftovers when there is more food coming soon;). On dinning plan there is just more food than we need anyway!

Yes at the a la cartes. No at the buffets or all you can eats, whether you are on a dining plan or not.
