LED Christmas Lights

I totally agree. We saw a led christmas tree set up at home depot and the blue was overwhelming. none of us liked the led trees.

I'm not a fan at all. I know eventually we'll have no choice but to buy them. But for now, we'll stick with the old kind (inside and out!).

I don't like them either. There is a house in our neighborhood that uses all blue LED's and it almost hurts my eyes to look at, its too surreal looking.

They're not as "bright" as the incandescent but they still do the job at night when it counts. What I love is I can string a HELLUVA lot more of them end-to-end without popping a breaker.

We prefer the regular lights to the LEDs. They look more like real candle light.

I absolutely hate them. Though my aunt just bought some this year that are nice.

I hate the white led ones. As others have said they are two white.
The older style have a warmer golden color.

If the LED's are just by themselves its okay but when they are put in the c7 style bulb covering I hate it.

I can't imagine ever really hating Christmas lights. They're there to make people happy. Even if they're not exactly what you would have done, they still represent a joyful, cheery spirit.

Definitely! I am the least christmassy person you can meet...I generally write "xmas" b/c I'm so NOT into the "reason for the season". but I wish "xmas" lights would be up all year! They just make me smile.

I'm definitely not as knowledgable about all of the types of lights as people here are...but we got some colored LED lights for the balcony and I love 'em. Have older little bitty colored lights on the tree and I love 'em. Have one small strand of older style BIG bulbs in multicolor...love 'em! :goodvibes

I love the LEDs and we bought them last year. The only problem I see with them is that they are supposed to last a lot longer than other types of lights and already this year several of the lights don't work - that's after only one year's use.

Hate em. They hurt my eyes. I'm serious I can't look at them for a long time because they are so bright and harsh.

I HATE the ones on the WL tree. That fake, blaring, bluish white.

I don't mind them at the Osborne Family lights at MGM. You almost don't need a tripod to get a good picture!

Conclusion: colored ones are easy to get used to.
Bright fake blue/white I will never get used to.

I hate them also! now I see where they have two different white lights, ....the white ones that have that "blue" look to them are called "Cool white" and there are now some that are called "warm white" those ones look more like the the old fashion white ones that we all know and love!

I hate them in cars to!!! they should be banned! they are WAY to bright!!!

I hate the white ones. I think I could eventually get used to the warm white ones, but the cool white ones are awful! The colored ones don't bother me as much outside, but I would never use them on my tree inside.

I really can't stand the houses that have a mixture of the LED and old style lights. It looks awful. I will stick with old white lights outside as long as I can and my old colored lights inside as long as I can!

oh I HATE the mixing of lights!! I have seen the old fashion white and the cool LED! eeewwwh! sorry if anyone here is doing that! just not my cup of tea!

I'm soo glad to discover that I'm not the only one who doesn't like them. I don't know if it's because I wear glasses with a very high prescription, but they look really wierd to me - kind of out of focus in a very strange way.

I've tried to like the white LEDs, but I just don't :sad1: I've wasted a lot of $$!!

I bought while LED lights for the tree 2 years ago and couldn't bring myself to use them because I hated the way they looked. Those were the 'cool' ones but they weren't called that then! I tried again this year and bought the 'warm' white LEDs. I had them up for a few days.. but finally took them off the tree and put up the regular old white lights, what a pain but it just looks so much better to me.

I also bought battery LED candles 2 years ago. 20 of them. I thought they were white, but the light was orangy looking, my DD said our house looked like Halloween not Christmas  This year I bought more battery LED candles, this time the package said 'soft white light'. I'm using them, they are so easy, but the light is very faint, not at all like the old plug in white bulb candles. I just don't like how they look. Since I now have over 60 window candles :rolleyes1 I'm not buying any more for quite awhile.

The colored ones I don't mind as much. I bought battery colored lights for a wreath and I'm actually pleased with them. I never had much luck with the battery regular lights, the batteries ran out so fast. I do miss the pink bulbs tho!

I have the multicolored LEDs on the roof of the deck and like them; they're really not very harsh looking and have the faceted diffusers on them. I have old multicolored C9 bulbs as well as miniature multicolored lights on my tree inside, and looking back and forth from the tree to the deck, the red, orange, green, and yellow LEDs are almost identical (in color and brightness) to the C9 "normal" bulbs on the tree. The only one that's different is the blue, and I actually like the blue LED better. It's like the deepest royal blue I've ever seen. Gorgeous!

YES! I have very light-sensitive eyes and it is agonizing to have to look dead ahead when a car with those obnoxious things is barreling toward me. Sure, they may make the road that much brighter and "safer" for the driver who has them on his car, but how much good are they gonna do him when someone else who has been blinded by the stinking headlights broadsides him?
