We are a family of 5 but i could only book it for a 3 and a 2 seating. If they can't work out something when we get there to put us together will we have 2 different servers or the same for the 2 tables?

It would probably depend on where they actually seat you. If your seating for 3 is on one side of the room and your seating for 2 is on another, that might be a problem. Or if they can't seat you at the same time. Since its two seperate seatings, they probably aren't planning on putting you together. If they are able to work something out that would be great. But I would prepare to not be seating by each other just in case.

I have had this happen at other places before and I just told them I needed it together when we got there. So far it hasn't been a problem. Just remind them of the situation when you actually get there and check in.

Is your reservation for lunch or dinner? If it's lunch... I would show up as early as possible, more then likely you'll get to sit together. If not, then plan on having seperate waiters.

Why not book for 5 in the beginning?

Sometimes they are totally "booked" I asked Disney Dining about it once and they explained they book by table size at times. It doesn't mean they aren't able to push tables together or can't sit you almost right next to each other, it just means they can't find a single table that will hold all of the party.

Two examples it happened for us, we were invited to join a family at 50s Prime Time for dinner. We asked if we canceled the ADRs and added us two if that was possible. They said no, but they had a table for 2 available at the exact same time. When we walked up, we asked to be seated together... low and behold they could.

The other time was CRT at lunch. It was impossible to book for 8... I was told that at the time and was told I could book 2 tables for 4. I took that. When we got there they had two tables pushed together to hold us all.

Seems kind of silly but apparently that is how the system is run.

We are a family of 6 and very often I can only get two tables. We have never been seated apart, sometimes one big table, other times tables pushed together like one big table.

I've eaten at Le Cellier three or four times and find that the cast members there are flexible when they can be. Since so many people book reservations that they don't intend to keep or are unable to keep, you might find that they have no problem seating you together.

We have a 7 & 3 for 4 adults and 6 children. Our dinner ressie is at 4:00 (all we could get!) so I think we'll be ok as it's so early. I have a couple of other splits as well.

We were told the same for our party of 10, we needed to book as 2 separate tables...when we got there they had 2 tables pushed together so we all sat together. They did tell us there was no guarantee when we made the ressie, but it was all taken care of when we arrived.

I agree we were a party of 11 with an infant this last June and they had us do two different reservations for the party. Most of the time they were able to get us all together in one area or tables side by side but not necessarily connected.

My original ressie was for 8 people, 3 opted out. They have reserved two tables of 4 for us. I called to cancel 3 people, they said it couldn't be done, I needed to cancel the entire ressie, (5 cannot sit at a table of 4). It took many months n for us to get this ressie. DH said leave it as is, and when we show up, tell them we are less 3 people...and they can replace with 'walk-ins', if need be. Would you do this? I feel guilty cause I know how hard this is to book a ressie....so confused :confused3

Stay with the 2 tables for 8. It won't matter if you are 8 or 5 you will still take up about the same amount of space. I know when we were there in June they had some tables that were 6 toppers (Seats 6 at one table), now that I think of it this might have been three two toppers slid together. This ressie is too hard to get I would not give it up. You may make their day when you only tell them you are 5 at check in. ;)
