LeCellier or Yachtmans?

Neither - Citricos!

=) Sorry, Yachtsman was wonderful but the filet at Citricos blew it out of the water. I don't think you can go wrong with either - however, LeCellier is in a themepark and the attire matches that and the restaurant is cramped and dark. Yachtsman is a tad nicer, most were dressed nicely, it's spacious and bright with a slower pace. I think of Yachtsman as a nice evening out more then LeCellier. So that might help you make your decision.

I love the food at LeCellier (Cheese Soup with Pretzels, Mushroom Filet and maple cream brulee) and consider it a steal at only 1 ts. My husband likes the Yachtsman the best except for the dessert which we both hate there. Do you want a dessert with a good meal while using only 1 ts then LeCellier is the best choice. If you want a good meal with better service and no dessert then the Yachtsman should be your choice. You can't go wrong though in any case.

Another vote for LeCellier (yum - cheese soup & pretzel bread - steaks great too!). I liked the atmosphere, medieval air about it...convenient too!

Yauchtsman..."rarefied" atmosphere bordering on pretencious...yes, it's dress-up, elegant & the food is good but, 2 Dining Credits?

Yachtsman!

much quieter .. better steaks ..outstanding service .. tables not packed together

I vote for LeCellier :cool1:

You didn't mention if you were on the dining plan, but like a PP said, Le Cellier is only one TS credit. I haven't been to either one, but if I had the choice between 2 great dinners and 1 great dinner, I'd take the two! :)

I vote for Le Cellier. We ata at both in October. Yachtsman was the dinner I most looked forward to, and I was disappointed. The setting is elegant, everyone was dressed a bit, the service was wonderful, but our dinners were a disappointment. We probably will not go back.
We loved Le Cellier. The food was delicious and our server was great. The tables are closer than at Yachtsman, but we still enjoyed it very much.

We ate at both in Oct. I would recommend LeCellier. Here are the reasons.

1. Better food @ LeCellier
2. Only one TS credit
3. In park, no commuting for dinner alone
4. Dark and cool (was burning hot outside)
5. Good service

Positives about Yachtsman

1. More spread out, not as cramped
2. Food is good, but not 2 TS good
3. Service was fair
4. Ambience and architecture good.

Overall, they are both very good, I would personally choose LeCellier. Good luck!

I haven't eaten at either (yet!), but a friend of mine who has taken over 40 trips to WDW (!!) emailed me her opinions on nearly every restaurant in WDW, and she had this to say about LeCellier: "generic steakhouse. just kinda eh, from my experience. seriously, go to yachtsmen steakhouse instead"

She insists that Yachtsman is the best steakhouse on property. I can't offer any opinion on that, but I did go ahead and take her advice, and booked an ADR for Yachtman in May. I'm sure either would be enjoyable, though- she's sort of a food snob, so I imagine she's just extremely hard to please.

Yachtsman is far superior to Le Cellier in both ambience and quality of steaks. DW and I usually order the chateaubriand for two -- an item you won't find on most menus -- and it's always been one of the finest pieces of beef we've ever had -- anywhere.

We went to the Yachtsmen over the summer (3rd time. 1st one was BAD, but gave them a second chance. Second time was excellent.) This last time, the service was TERRIBLE! They forgot us in the lounge (new woman at the podium) and we got some female waitress who disappeared for long periods of time. The food was not as good as we hoped either!

Went to Le Cellier for Thanksgiving a few years ago (again second time and the first was great.) This wasn't very good either... Maybe because it was Thanksgiving, but we couldn't believe the difference from the first time which we loved...

So... I might even pick a different restaurant altogether. Depending upon your $$ or TS credits if you have them. We just had a PERFECT dinner at CA Grill. (Had steaks at all the restaurants so I'm comparing steaks...) If you have other choices...

I've been to both restaurants and my choice by far is Le Cellier. Yachtsman had a nice ambiance and it was kind of fun to dress up for dinner, but our waitress was awful...it was almost like she was drunk. In fact, the family at the table next to us noticed the same thing and we joked about how awful she was throughout the meal. Our steaks were very good, but my DD's steak was barely cooked and we had to send it back for additional cooking. At Le Cellier, all of the food was wonderful and even my picky DD ate every last bite. The atmosphere was nice, especially escaping the hot June sun, and the waiters were great.

I've eaten at both and prefer Le Cellier. Le Cellier had good food, service and atmosphere. I thought Yachtsman's service was ok and the restaurant was poorly run (they messed up on some things while we there). I didn't think the atmosphere was that great.

Yachtsman!

I ate at Le Cellier once and it was good. Then I ate at Yachtsman and it blew Le Cellier away. I have now had 3 absolutely amazing meals at YSH. I would find it hard to go back to Le Cellier now, knowing how good YSH is.

Last week we ate at YS and LC (and also CG). Were on the dining plan. Far and away would pick YS over LC---DW had NY Strip that was the best steak she has ever had---cooked well and perfect. DW appetizer of scallops were huge and enjoyed. My shrimp cocktail was great also. Appetizers and bread were a meal in themselves. I had surf and turf, which was good. Desserts were very good--JD mousse and a creme brulee with fresh fruit. We rated YS just a notch below CG. LC---it was okay, nothing great, nothing bad. No comparison to YS or CS---both of them well worth the 2 dining credits per meal. With all of the food on the dining plan, we were glad we did two nights of 2 dining credits per meal. Gave us two nights break of eating so much.
