So I keep going back and forth- we are going late August for free dining. Our first park day is Epcot, I know, mean mom..but I want my kids to learn all the educational stuff before they get blown away by the fun of MK. My kids are 8, 7 and 4, and they don't remember going last time. Later on in the trip, I have Hollywood Vine, Tusker House, Chef Mickeys, and CRT scheduled..on Epcot day, day 1, is our only NON character meal. But, I feel so bad for scheduling Le Cellier for day 1. Unfortunately, since I am not getting parkhoppers it's either day 1 for LeCellier or not at all. Going back though..I feel kind of bad for not seeing princesses on the first day- I do have a 7 year old girl and a 4 year old girl, after all. It's not their fault mean mom is pushing the educational stuff on them first. :rotfl: So should I go with princess storybook breakfast or lunch instead? And skip LeCellier? Or should I not feel bad about having one non character meal? Or since this is a trip for the kids...do all character meals? Ugh!

i have eaten at both. they are two totally different experiences. lecellier was fantastic! my dh and i LOVED it - my kids liked it; our server was great with them and we had a very nice meal. the setting is not very exciting for kids, though; more of a quieter dining experience. we at here for the highly rated menu and service.

akershus was chock-full of princesses and little ones in costume! it was very cute, and a bit loud. my 3yo princess-obsessed dd really loved this. the food was okay - nothing super-noteworthy. we got some great pics of the kids with the princesses. we ate here for the experience, not the food.

can you do both (one for lunch and one for dinner) and pay oop for one? just a suggestion...

I would skip Le Cellier. We were just there and it was terrible. The food was just not good. I do not understand the hype of that restaurant. We did not like anything we ordered from appetizer to entree. Desserts were Ok. We do Askerhaus every trip. We love it there.

Everyone has an opinion -- we've eaten at both - several times at LeCellier and we've never had a bad meal. Be aware at Askerhaus though, the food can be very salty -- good but salty.

I have not eaten at Le Cellier, but have always wanted to try it. I booked Akershus for our third breakfast there in as many trips. The last time the food at breakfast was really good (we thought). There was a large assortment of fresh fruit (strawberries, pineapple, melon, etc), cheeses, pastries, as well as the hot food that was delivered to our table. Would that be an option for you to do an early breakfast there and then a late lunch at Le Cellier? This is what we're considering since I really want to try Le Cellier, but this Princess meal is only 1 TS credit and we found the food to be worth it for breakfast. If lunch or dinner were our only choice however, I think we would try someplace different.
