LeCellier, is it WORTH IT??

I am looking for advice.... We are reserved at 1:20 on Dec 14. Is this a fancy place and is the food ok or great? I know I will get mixed reviews. My family is not a REAL fancy dining family. Just wondering IF I even can if I should try Crystal Palace or somehwere else.

Its nice without being "fancy". Laid back I'd call it, and you don't have to get dressed up. I had the salmon which was simply to die for. The cheddar cheese soup and pretzel bread is not to be missed, either. My son had the maple glazed pork chop which he didn't care for, but I had a taste and if we go again I'd have no problem ordering. I thought it was good. While I've read other posts by those who've eaten there in the past and say that it's gone a bit downhill, we all enjoyed our meals probably because it was our first time there and had no past experiences with which to compare. Try it, I would say. The best is that you'd love it so much as to go back, the worst would be you didn't like it but tried it anyway and will move onto a different restaurant.

And while we enjoy the Crystal Palace, there's NO comparison between the two.

Whatever you do, make sure to try the cheese soup and I may be odd, but I like ALL the breadsticks!

I like the salmon, but I don't think they serve it at lunch time. I also like the burgers - mine with cheddar, DH likes his with bleu cheese. The girls love the kids menu there, as well.

Oh, and don't forget the creme brulee and other desserts!

Yum thanks for the food suggestions , that helps as well. We are not Salmon people so no loss there.

LeCellier is the best. If you can get the ADR, you must go ahead and book it. IMO, its the best resaurant choice in WDW.

We had dinner here for the first time this past Sept. It was definitely worth it! DH and I both had the strip steak. Get the campfire smores for dessert! It was the best dessert I've ever had anywhere! YUM!

Its a good value.

It is not fancy - its a park restaurant and generally speaking, park restaurants aren't fancy. It is not great - there are better steaks at Disney. But there probably isn't a steak as good at Disney for the money you'll spend - the better steaks do come with higher price tags. And if you aren't comfortable with fancy, you'll probably really enjoy Le Cellier.

Their steak is sooooo good, and I'm not even a big steak fan.

I would recommend the cheese soup as well (so yummy!) and the chocolate mousse is prepared so that it looks like a moose! It's adorable and such a decadent dessert. I know I've seen a picture of the chocolate mousse posted here before.

We've been a couple 3 times but won't be back. While all food at disney is expensive we found this to be way to pricey for us for what you get, atmosphere and taste..We would rather get great food at Kona.

Yes, but All Ears Net gives Chef Mickey's a better rating than California Grill. Beaches and Cream gets a better rating than Flying Fish. The All Ears Net rating system does a good job of telling how a restaurant meets the expectations it sets for itself. It isn't good for comparisons (unless you really believe Chef Mickey's is a better restaurant than California Grill).

We've been a couple of times, but it's no big deal for us. Lots of similar restaurants near us, it doesn't really make me feel like I'm on vacation. But it is worth going once so you can decide for yourself. Food is good/ok, but atmosphere is nothing special.

Le Cellier is our favorite WDW restaurant. The filet mignon is SO good. And there's no need to get dressed up. Just normal park wear.

LeCellier is one of our favorite places dine while at Epcot. Every trip, we always book at least one dinner there. The food is better than average, service is great, and you can be comfortible while enjoying the decor. Here are a few of the pics of our meal....

While you make a good point, the OP asked if the food was just OK or great. I think the top rating at least helps answer that question. If that number was all about atmosphere & service, the rating wouldn't be near as high.
