We're tossing this one back and forth at my house. We will make a CP dinner package PS. HOwever, we can't seem to decide where!! My dh told me last night that LeCellier was highly recommended to him. So, what have been your experiences there for the dinner package? Thanks a lot.

Althouh our dinner package for CP was at Chef's de France, you won't go wrong with Le Celier. We've never had a bad meal or bad service there.

We have done Le Cellier with the pkg and loved it. If my parents are visiting for the holidays it is the only restaurant they want to go to before the show.

We did the package at Le Cellier last year on Christmas Eve. It worked out very well. We had an early PS at 4:20 and did the 6:45 show. We had a bit of a wait to be seated, but the food was very good & the service was good too. I will say it didnt become a must do restaurant for us, but we would definitely go back sometime.
The one thing I would stay away from was the kids pasta. Plain pasta with grated cheese is one of the few things my kids eat and they didnt care for it much. I dont think Ive ever met a pasta I didnt like, but I had to agree with the kids on this one. Then again, who goes to a steak house for pasta, right? ;) The soup, breadsticks and steaks were very good.
And the show is definitely a do not miss!!! :D

I've done the Rose & Crown for the last 2 year's CP and have been very pleased. I've dined at Le Cellier and have also been pleased.

When I went last year, it happened to rain 1/2 way through the performance. I wanted to sit under the overhang, but the CM kept telling me I'd be much happier further back. Well, sitting in front of a walkway with people constantly walking by and being beyond the overhang damped things a bit. Also, it was still a bit bright out, so you lost a little of the candles, lights, etc. To finish off the night, I was outside for dinner, wet, cold & tired and just did not feel like wating around another hour for Illuminations to start (early PS). I would recommend the 2nd show of the night and sit under the overhang.

If you do the 2nd show, ask for a PS after that at the Rose & Crown. When you check in, request a patio table. This way you can enjoy a great meal, then sit back and watch Illuminations from the comfort of your table while enjoying dessert.

We did the GG in FW. Price is the best for a CP package, and includes non-alcoholic drinks and dessert- plus it is a character dinner.

Le Cellier is an excellent choice, but you can experience it at lunch for a lot less $$ than dinner either that day or a second day. The food is good at Le Cellier at both lunch and dinner, but is a much better value at lunch IMHO.

BLessings :)

Thanks for the input guys. Well Terk-1, you sure didn't have the greatest experience, did you!? We ate at GG last Dec and liked it a lot. In fact, the CP meal we had there was better than the regular one we had in August.

We also sat further back...past that middle walk-way. But it was a nice clear evening. Loved being a bit towards the back.

So, we'll see what dh decides on doing. I do know that we will be doing the late show. Seems to work best for us. So will be eating around 5:30 or so. Thanks again.

Hi.. Terk-1.. when is the 2nd show? We are going the first week of December, getting there later in the afternoon on Sat. 12/4 and wondering if we can race to Epcot and catch the 2nd show?? How late can you make PS for dinner at the Rose & Crown?

How early do you have to get there for the show if you have a PS package? So many questions.. !!

We have never been there for the CP, and it is the main reason to go at Xmas! Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! We also have one other night to go.. Monday, as we are doing MVMCP on Sunday night.. Short trips are better than no trips! ::MickeyMo

Thanks, Cheryle

We've never done WDW during December either. My question is are there any tables available for PS that are not CP dinner packages? I'm going with my DS14, and Le Cellier and Rose and Crown are his choices for dinner, but he's not sure he wants to watch the CP. Will I still be able to get a PS for either of these restaurants at the 90 day point, or will the availability be gone?

You should be able to get a non-CP PS at 90 days, I don't think they set aside all the tables for packages.

Regarding the overhang at the show, we've done the package 3 times and all 3 times we got there fairly early but not at the front of the line and were not permitted in the first section under the overhang even though there were empty seats, the usher said they were reserved. We sat in the front of the second section in the center. Luckily, we did not have any rain.

We did this awhile back and loved our meal at LeCellier. Just make sure you allow enough time to get over for your performance. We had our in-laws, and when your in your 70's you must go at their pace. Enjoy!!
