Grief....leaving in the morning super early!! Very excited. Taking 4 teen kids...my almost 17 yr old's gf broke up with him today. Poor kid. I feel awful for him and wish I could make it all better.....maybe some of you Mom's (or Dad's) understand that.

Hope the trip makes him feel better and he has fun and doesn't mope around all week. Amazing how much you can hurt for your kid....:sad2:

awww Poor guy... I don't have any kids but I do remember my first break up and it is awful but hopefully leaving on your trip will help a little. Keep him busy to keep his mind off of it Because he is going to think of it very often but keep him laughing and having a great time. :dance3:

i've gone through that.
it made me sick.........

don't be surprised if he checks his cell phone for messages every 15 minutes while you are on vacation...........

vacations are exciting and hoping your son will have a great time in the parks and hotel pools.
hopefully he will perk up and get caught up in the rides and atmosphere there.

Thanks everyone...wish I could take it away for him. I am positive we will be busy...he is a pretty fun loving jokester type kid so hopefully he can enjoy himself.

Universal is definitely the place to go if you want to take your mind off things and be in a fun and different environment.

It's impossible to be sad when you have Electro in your face!

Anyway, vacation is vacation and when you're forced to go, you usually get caught up in whatever's going on.

So I'd say Universal with the family is the perfect thing to do if you're down!

Disney's a whole other story.

Well, after Universal, we are going to Disney for 4 days. Staying off site though. We were there last June so don't feel a huge need to rush around and try and do everything. If we do our favorite things we will be fine. Planned the trip a couple of months ago even though it is spring break time. I am hoping the worst of it is either over or yet to come.

I really feel for the guy. A broken heart is the worst! Whenever I have had heart ache, I always keep myself busy around my family and friends (the pain is still there but it keeps youR mind off it!) Whatever you do, don't use the phrase "plenty more fish in the sea" (I don't know why people say that when all you want is the person who has left you)!

Oh Bless him......nothing hurts more than when your child is hurting :sad1:

I do hope he has (and you too) have the most wonderful trip, and he doesn`t hurt too much :goodvibes

Thanks everyone....we are back from a great trip....will post a trip report soon....trying to get caught up with everything.

I definitely think it was a good thing for my son to be on the trip...we were busy the entire time and were constantly doing stuff...he didn't have a lot of time to mope around.

Now that we are home...we will see what happens...but thankfully he went right back to school which keeps him busy too. Unfortunatley, he hasn't felt well the past 2 days and had a stomach ache and fever so is home today.

I appreciate your kind words and understanding.

Kelly

Kay Kelly, thanx for letting us know you are back.
great to hear keeping busy on the vacation kept your son's spirits up.

looking forward to more of your fun visit when you have time.

I'm so sorry about your poor son. Both of my sons were broken-hearted when their girlfriends broke up with them several years ago. My oldest son's gf was supposed to go with us to WDW/US and changed her mind before the trip. He had even purchased her WDW tickets. My youngest son's gf broke up with him shortly after she accompanied us on a trip to WDW/US about a year later. Each of them was devastated and my heart went out to them. All I can say is that time really is the best healer. They kept busy with college and friends and moved on.
