My wife and I have a big week this week. We find out the sex of our first child on Thursday and we leave for Orlando on Saturday! We are very excited about the week! We will also have my wife's 12 yr old sister with us on this trip. It looks like we are going to get 3 day hoppers that come with 2 extra days for each of us to hit the Disney parks pretty hard. I am wondering which park we should do first? I don't know if we'll do parks on Sunday or not but if there is a compelling reason we should I would be interested to know. This will be her sister's first Disney trip so I know we want to catch the Electric Parade at MK, Illuminations at Epcot and Fantasmic at HMS but outside of that are there any other once a day or even once a week events that we need to plan around that are must sees?

Thanks,
W

Finding out the sex of your child plus Disney World in the same week. So exciting! :yay:

We always go to Magic Kingdom first. That is our favorite park. :)

Take a look at the calendar here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/hours.htm to help you pick your park days. It lists the parades and shows you want to see.

You may also want to check out easywdw.com for his park day recommendations. It goes strictly by crowd levels.

One important question: Are you staying onsite so you have access to Extra Magic Hours? We like to hit the morning EMH park very early, head back to our resort for a rest/ swim, then out to a different park around 4pm. If we don't have access to EMH, then we pick the park that had EMH the evening before.

I've found that a little planning- even just picking the best days for each park - can help save you hours in line.

Also, if you can get there 30 minutes before park opening and hit the headliners of each park then go back to rest or grab fastpassess early I would say MK the "mountains are the headliners" Space and Splash (your spouse wont be able to go on these), Peter Pan believe it or not is hard to get on in Magic Kingdom. In Epcot, hit Soarin first thing and in Hollywood Studios Toy Story Mania, Tower of Tower, Rock n Roll Coaster are the headliners, and for Hollywood Studios, try to prioritize which shows you want to see (I recommend Beauty for the 12 year old and your spouse) because some of the shows run at the same time. If you have a smartphone there are also line apps on there so you can see wait times for rides I would want to do almost everything in the Magic Kingdom and they have the Electric Parade and fireworks, Illuminations at Epcot and Fantastmic in Hollywood Studios Enjoy your trip and congratulations!!!!!:cool1:
