Hi everyone,

I am hoping someone can help with my situation. We are a group of 11 on the 11/15 Magic. Four adults and 2 toddlers are arriving Fri and staying at MCO. Tiffany town car is pikcing us up in a van and supplying one booster and one car seat for the trip to the port.

The other group is arriving Thursday night and needs transport to the Poly. Tiffany Town car was scheduled to do it, but they now say that they will only provide one booster and one car seat. The people in this party have 3 kids, so they are one short. Tiffany won't budge.

Also, for the trip from PC to MCO, we have a Van and Town car reserved to transport the 11 of us. Tiff says that they will only provide 1 car seat and one booster.

I know I can bring my own from home, but what a PITA. I don't want to lug those things all over the airport and then try to stoer them in our cabins. I feel like I am paying a lot of money to Tiffany and they should be more accomodating. SO...

1. Does anyone know a company that will provide seats as part of the price and might be more accomondating?

2. Any advice on how to get around this if there is no alternative?

Thanks a million for the help,

Peg

Wow what a PITA
i dont know the anwser but i am bumping it up so someone who does can help

Even though it's a pain, just bring your own. Many car services refuse to provide car seats or boosters for liability reasons. Personally, I would worry that they'd forget it or that it would be defective or filthy. I always took my own.

Sorry, I might be the minority opinion here, but you asked.

We just got back on Sunday and we used Your Ride. They were the absolute best!!

We came in on Friday and the driver was waiting for us with a van took us to the Radisson, picked us up on Sat at the terminal and also was there waiting for us, took us to the Royal Pacific Resort at Universal and then picked us up from there to take us to the airport, also waiting for us before the scheduled time. We loved our driver and were very very happy with the service. They did provide booster seats. Also, just as an extra, I was a little concerned with using them because their quote was so much cheaper than the others that I called but boy am I glad that I chose to save the money!!

Try them at ********.com

I am sorry about your town car difficulties. I hope you get them resolved quickly and smoothly.

As a last resort, there is a relatively small and portable car seat on the market. Other posters say they have found it at Wal-Mart and it is around $20.00. It folds up enough so it would fit in your luggage - but of course I can't remember the name. Maybe someone else can help out with that.

Good Luck!

Ages on the children? If enough are old enough consider using snap on belt adjusters instead of booster seats and just use car seats for the ones that have to have them. The belt adjusters do the same thing as a booster seat, adjust the belt so it fits correctly and they are less then $10 at Walmart and are only about 4inchesX6inchesX.5inches. Very easy to pack and bring your own. Anyone know what Florida law is on ages for required use of a booster seat?

I would recommend bringing your own carseats, too. That way, you KNOW what you are getting. What would you do if the carservice 'forgot' your seats? Yikes, I would hate to be in that position.

And, for the child in a regular carseat, bring it on the plane and use it there. It is MUCH safer to have the child in the plane in the harnessed seat than deal with a seatbelt.

I did buy an extra booster for less than $20 at Target for my trip. No problem at all -- checked that one through with baggage.

Thanks for the tips. I think i might just buy a couple of cheapies at Walmart and not worry. My little princesses are 2 (today!) and 3, but the other 3 in the group are 2 and 4 yo twins. I guess we will put the little ones in car seats provided and buy booster seats for the bigger kids.

By the way, when I called Tiffany this morning to go over the situation, Mike, the dispatcher, cancelled my reservation on me saying that it was ont his responsibility to worry about my kids and that I was asking for too much. In no way was I rude or demanding, I was just getting the run down on what was provided. Total @#$!*&!. He says hisbusinnes is too good to worry about me and my family wanting to make a grocery stop.

I am looking forward to blasting tiffany on the transport board. What kind of company cancels on you 3 days before your sail? Never in my life...

Thanks again for all the help. Wish me luck! If you see a group of 6 adults and 5 kids walking along the highway on the way to Port Canaveral, beep and wave. That will be us!

He says hisbusinnes is too good to worry about me and my family
What a terrible thing to do. His "business" is to good to deal with you. He doesn't know that you have 55,000 close and personal friends here on the DIS boards. Rip away, and we'll see how good his business is in 6 months:wave2:

Don't use Star limo. I hear that they suck too!! If you haven't read the trip report by "DelsWife" to WDW, she had problems with Star limo comming and going. Here's a link to part 2 of her report where she talks about the problems. DelsWife Trip Report Part 2 (The entire report is in 42 installments (nope it's 47 installments and it is one of the funniest things that I have ever read!)

I can't believe a businessman would say such a thing!!! :earseek:
I would think that nobody's business ever gets THAT good to allow them to alienate a customer. If Mike keeps saying that, he'll soon find himself with no business at all because the internet is a powerful tool and lots of people look at DIS for recommendations of who to use and who to stay away from. We use Happy Limo, and I think I would faint if they were ever that rude! They have always been very nice, even when I've had last minute changes, and they've never given me any problems about the grocery stops.

Thanks for the support. I really could not believe what was coming out of the other end of the phone. I started shaking becuase I was so mad and so upset. I am not a confrotational person at all, in fact, quite the opposite. This Mike character was completely out of control.

When he cancelled on me, I couldn't believe it. Later when I was calmer about it, I thought of the analogy of being dumped before you got the chance to do the dumping!

I am investigating my other options and thank you for the support and encouragement. Happy Limo is on my list to call. All said, if this is the biggest glitch on my way to the cruise, I will be one very happy cruiser!! I have invested so much time and energy into making this a great trip for my overworked husband, my precious little girls and me, that I won't allow one very rude and very stupid dispatcher to ruin it.

Thanks again!

Peg

We are using your ride next week and they are very reasonable and have been so nice and helpful no matter how much I emailed them questions. It is ********.net if they don't edit it. Thom was very helpful. They should be able to work with all your details, we have 4 legs 6 on part of the legs and 8 on the other, they have been great.

Many years ago, they just didn't come to get me, nothing too serious! And you hjave just given me another reason to dislike e Tiffany. Last trip I used FL Tours, sponsors of this web site, I can't say enough good things about them. I have used your ride, too, and they were great, but Andy at FL Tours was like my best friend. Try them, please.

Mickey fan,

I will call FL tours. I know when I originally called them they were charging $220 for a van, which was a little steep compared to others, but then again, Happy Limo was cheaper but I had to pay for carseats. I guess the differences are very minimal once you tally all of the costs. Belive me, at this point, I would be happy if someone just left us some bicycles by the aiport.

I just have to say it one more time before I let it go, Tiffany Town Car #$@*&!!!!

Thanks!
Peg

There is a coupon for FL limo on the web, not sure if it helps for your limo size.

Just a side note, Mears is the "official" transport for WDW. They were once supposed to meet me at AK to get me to the airport. No show, or at least one guy showed, picked up a larger group that said they had no ressie, and left me standing. There was a great cabbie waiting to pick up a new fare, he took me for less than Mears was going to charge. He raced to the airport so I just made my flight. He was a peach. If no body shows, never underestimate the independent guy.
