Leaving park and returning later?

Yes, it's no problem at all as long as you have your ticket. It's recommended in the summer heat to take a pool break or a nap in the afternoon.

Keep in mind that it depends on when you are going. Universal parks in lower times of year close much earlier than Disney.It is not unusual to see hours of only 9-6 or 9-7 in off times of year.For some people that isn't a lot of time for others it is no big deal

On the other hand, the Universal resorts are all a lot closer to the parks than most Disney resorts so your travel time from that point of view is a lot less. I stay at RPR and it's a 5 minute walk to IOA and 8 to US

If your staying offsite, you're also allowed to leave and return to the parking garage later without paying a second parking fee. Just keep and them them your receipt when you return to the garage.
