We are leaving on the 24th of April. Our first Disney trip. Can you bring coolers in the park? How big/small? Tried looking that info up on Disney, but could not find it.. Am buying bottled water before hand, freezing them the night before to last thru the day.. also read on here about the poncho's & bandaids.. any other little things to pack? Also, found a deal for $500 for a qty of 4 - 4 day park hopper passes.. of course its a timeshare thing, and I do know how to say NO ...LOL.. has anyone done that before? Or know of anything cheaper? Thanks! Penny:)

Welcome to the DIS board !!!

This topic has been talked about before, and from what I remember, most people responded to the topic that they did 'not' see anyone with a coolers in the parks. Your post may get different (new) responses. Personally we (2 adults/3 kids) pack an extra suitcase full of snacks and drinks for our trip, but fill a backpack with the stuff before we go to the parks. Using a backpack is much easier and A LOT more convenient, if you ask me. We are able to carry the backpack on the rides, on the Disney bus/momorail/boat, bring it into restaurants, as it takes up very little space and is not bulky, and it never leaves our sight. Towards the end of the day it's practically empty because there's no snacks/drinks left. Carrying or pulling a cooler for that matter, would be too much effort because first off you have to carry/pull the thing, and you may not be able to carry it onto any rides. My vote is for using a backpack instead. Anyway, enjoy your trip !

Maybe a rolling backpack? You can always put a small soft cooler in there. I would also take any medicines, like tylenol, pepto bismol. You can but meds at the park but it is expensive, like everything else. Don't forget sunblock!

Since you aren't supposed to bring outside food or drink into the park, I imagine they would say no to your cooler.

Leave the cooler in the car and pack your back pack with what you need for the day.

It sounds as though they overlook people's food and drinks when they check your bags at security.

We plan to eat breakfast before we arrive, bring a sandwich and some fruit and water with us for one meal and then eat in the parks the rest of the day.

It saves a fortune to have at least one meal with you and your drinks and snacks.

I carry our sandwiches in those little square Glad containers so they don't get squished in the backpack.

When they are empty they stack together to take up less room (and make more room for souveniers)

We carried a cooler everyday into the parks and nobody ever even blinked. Of course that was BEFORE security checks. My thoughts are that if you have a VERY small child with you they are not going to question it. I've seen lots of people with coolers in the parks though most of them just looked like small nylon bags.

Don't know if that has changed now that they do security checks or not.

Yes you can bring coolers into the parks.

We just returned from our 3 weeks of Magic! We took a soft-sided cooler with a shoulder strap with us daily. We had cold pop, water, snacks and sandwiches in this cooler. We didn't have ice but it stayed cold most of the day.

The Security people didn't comment on the contents of the cooler.

Go for it! Enjoy your vacation and feel the Magic!

Hi,

We always take a cooler in. We have a soft sided
cooler that fits just right in the basket under our stroller.
We just went in Feb. 04 and no one in the security
lines said anything about the cooler or the snacks
we brought in. We have been carrying this same
stroller with a cooler in the basket since 1999 (4 trips)
and have never had a problem at all. Having the cooler,
with drinks, is a life saver not to mention a money saver.
You will not have a problem with a soft sided cooler that
you can carry. Good luck
