Normally, our bags would have packed by now. But our house is up for sale and having to keep our home spotless every day is driving me nuts!

We leave Monday for a 10 day trip so I'm telling our agent that I don't want any showings on Sunday. That way, I can pull out all our luggage and spend the day packing!

I hope I don't forget anything!

Yikes, that would stress me out! You have a good plan though, so I'm sure you'll be fine. I completely understand the sale prep and you have my deepest sympathy! Wouldn't it be great if you sold the day before you left? Our last house sold the night before I had major surgery. It was a huge relief until we realized that the inspection was at 8am the day after I was released from the hospital. I wasn't able to move around at all, yet my husband carried me to the car and we took the kids and drove here and there while I slept soundly dosed on pain meds. :lmao: In hindsight, I don't know why we didn't postpone the inspection?!

Good luck on the house and have a great trip!

You have my sympathies. We sold our house in October. Fortunately, we sold quickly... our house was only on the market for 2 weeks. It was really hard to keep things show ready all the time. We ended up accepting an offer that wasn't perfect for us, but we were just so relieved to have it sold.

The deal on our current home closes on Tuesday, so we're moving out on Monday. Here's the kicker ... we leave for 10 days in FL on Wednesday ... and we don't get into our new place until Jan 4th. We'll be staying in a hotel for a couple of nights and then with my parents for a few weeks over the holidays. Packing for that one is loads of fun!

I know I could handle packing for our trip right now. I could handle packing for the move right now. Packing for a move and the trip would be tough, but I could manage. Packing for a move, the trip, the time in transition, and holidays with my parents is filling my brain a little more than I can handle! I just keep telling myself it will all be worth it on Wednesday when that plane touches down in Orlando!

We're in the same boat. We live in 11 days for Hawaii. I'm packing everything anyway then, if there's a showing, we'll throw the suitcases in the car when we leave for the showing. I can't handle not packing in advance.

If it makes you feel better we leave on Sunday morning and we haven't started packing either! We don't have our house for sale so that is not an excuse. We head to BLT for a week then a DCL cruise for a week. WE can't wait - but you wouldn't know that from the lack of packing!

Happy travels! The cruise is loads of fun....but take Gravol BEFORE you get on the ship! I was violently ill our first night at sea..and I used to work on boats in the Toronto harbour and didn't think the ship's movement would affect me.:laughing:

Good idea!

I think I'd be a bit scared if I just bought a house and then saw that the previous owners were leaving the country that same day! :rotfl:

Thanks for the laugh!

Things are going remarkably well. I don't think I'll ever complain about how much work it is to pack a family for a trip again. I'm amazed that we've done as well as we have. DH has been a wonderful help, and the kids have cooperated much better than expected. I'm sure we'll arrive at WDW without something we wish we had, but we'll manage.

Have a great trip everyone!

I am in the EXACT SAME BOAT as you!!! I did finally pull stuff out today and worst case, someone sees the house with my stuff out to pack in our guest room...oh well, not much I can do!
