Hi everyone!

I'm leaving in 10 days for a last-minute, 3-day stay at the Dolphin! : ) My DH will be at a convention in Orlando, so I'm taking our 3 kids down to meet up with him for three days.

I have a few questions for you Dolphin experts!

Since there are 5 of us (kids aged 3, 6, 8) will we be automatically charged for a roll-away bed? Or is it optional?

We booked a standard room with the AAA rate ($147.50, I think). Any suggestions on what floors/rooms I should request? I assume all of the rooms have been renovated by now?

What are my chances for a free upgrade?

Should I fax my room request in advance, or just wait til check in?

We will be arriving around 10:00 am on a Friday. Do you think there's a chance our room will be ready?

Is there computer access at the Dolphin? I do not want to bring my own laptop computer with me, but I need to find a place where I can log on to a computer to check my email sometime during the trip.

Thanks in advance!

Sharon

We stayed at the Dolphin this past July. Yes, you should be able to check in early and receive an upgrade. Yes, the rooms have a high speed connection. Don't know if they will charge you for a fifth person but my guess is that they will. Great hotel, enjoy! ::MickeyMo

You have alot of questions in one post! We stayed at the Swan this August and had a great time. There are business centers where you can use computers, but it is really expensive and very slow. I would suggest calling the hotel directly with your other questions.

The Dolphin has a business center with computers and internet access. If I remember correctly, the cost is something like $10 a half hour for access. There is a credit card reader at each work station that you use to start your session.... steve c

I would request a room on the West Wing if you want to close to the grotto pool. The Central Wing would be next best. I've stayed on the East Wing and it does get to be a little bit of hike to get to the pool and to Tubbi's, which is in the West Wing. It's also nice if you can be around the corner from the elevator. You don't want to be too close to the elevator because it can get noisy and I think the ice machines are right there too, but you also don't want to have to hike down two hallways to the elevator. As far as I know, all the Dolphin rooms have been renovated.

Are you a Starwood Preferred Guest member? If not, go to www.spg.com and sign up. It's free and they will give you a number and a temporary card to print out. That can help with an upgrade--a room with a view of fireworks would be nice, but I wouldn't count on it. For your request, you can go to the swandolphin.com website, and send them your request under reservations and special requests. Give them your spg membership number and also call starwood and have the number added to your reservation.

I don't think they will charge you for the rollaway unless you request it. You may want to post that question separately if no one on this thread knows for sure. You could request a crib (and maybe even a pack n play). There would be no charge for that. We have arrived at the Dolphin and Swan around noon and our room was always ready, but it's always been on a weekend.
