Leaving from LAX at 6 pm on a Friday - UGH!!

It looks like our outgoing flight will be at 6 pm on a Friday. Any ideas on what time we should leave DL to make sure we make it in time to LAX?

Supershuttle and AirportBus general pick you up 2.5 hours before your flight. This generally got us to the airport very early, even with traffic. I don't even think the drivers used the Carpool lanes. If you have to return a rental car, that could add some additional time because the return area is not close to the airport.
