I'm leaving for WDW on Friday, but need some pixie dust to get me dancing. My DBF was supposed to join me on this trip and backed out last night due to work reasons. Unfortunately, there's no way he can get out of it. Now I'm completely bummed out and can't get excited about going.

No money was lost (thank God for Southwest allowing people to put funds in a holding acct!), and we can always go another time. I know it's not the end of the world. But I was really looking forward to this. :sad1:

Are you going alone now??

What a total bummer about DBF.That said, I hope you can enjoy the trip, being able to do anything and everything YOU want to do. Hope that helps... :wave2:

Sk8belle that really is sad news, does this mean your traveling alone? Can a friend take his place?

I just don't know what to say -- Bummer -- Are you going solo?

Oh, yes. I too am sorry your DBF cannot go with you, but I hope you will go and find lots of magic while there. I am traveling solo in about 3 weeks for the first time and hoping that I don't get bummed by being alone in a Christmas decorated resort and parks. Take a quick peek onto the solo board for suggestions and a morale boost.

Thanks, everyone. I really do appreciate the kind words.

I'll be solo from Friday until Monday morning when my parents arrive. I've gone solo before and LOVE it. As jngwright said, you get to set your own schedule and do your own thing. If you want to go on Soarin' more than once a day or just kick back in France with a yummy pastry, there are no negotiations! It's great. Once I get down there, I'm sure I'll get lost in the magic of Disney.

Redbudlover, I've never been there over the holidays by myself, but I've never been bummed when I'm there on my own. I've always found that you end up meeting more people, and interaction with the CMs definitely increases which is just awesome. Either it's because you're more open to approaching people or they notice you're alone and make an effort. Whichever, talking with them is always fun and should help cheer you up if you do start feeling low.

SK8belle,

Thank you so much! Here you are looking for a boost and you reassure me! Bless your heart. You have a lucky DBF... I appreciate your kind words. I have traveled sol a lot too and what you say is right - you do meet a lot more people! I am excited, just know that Christmas is special to me and so I am prepared!

Ah, you're quite welcome. It was the least I could for you in return for your kindness. Have a great time when you go! I'm off to finish packing....

Have a great trip! You never know what's in store for you on this adventure so keep an open mind! :cool1:

Have a great trip! If there is any place on earth that you have to be alone, I think Disney wins by far :)

Thanks, all! The trip went well. DBF called me almost everyday and got rather envious when I described in detail all the food and wine tastings he was missing out on. Hopefully his work schedule will be more flexible the next time around.

Again, the support was much appreciated.
