Our flight leaves Orlando at 3:10 p.m. to travel back home. Approx. what time will we need to be there to ride the bus back to the airport? I am wondering if we would have time to do something like Downtown Disney that morning and still be safe time wise to get on the bus. Thanks.

You will receive a DME envelope the day before you leave. It will give you the time the bus will pick you up. Pick-up time is usually 3 hours prior to your flight.

You'll probably have noon pick-up time; 3 hours prior to flight time is the norm (which is a bit painful for those with early morning flights! ). Between traffic and TSA security, we've found the timing to work pretty well.

I would plan to be back at the resort by 11:30. They suggest that you are at the bus stop at least 15 minutes before pickup time.

thanks for all info. I'm going to go check and see how early DTD opens and even if we go for just an hr., would still be a fun way to end the trip.

WPE in the Marketplace openned for breakfast at 9:00on our last trip. We then checked out the big Disney store and the Christmas shop after we finished eating . It wasn't our checkout day but we caught a boat back to before 11:00am. If you are using Disney buses give yourself well over an hour to get back to your resort (or take a taxi). The resort boats have a regular schedule as opposed to the buses.

You would need to leave DTD no later than 10:30.

I agree with this. You need to leave plenty of time for contingencies.

On my last trip I stayed at POFQ. The boats weren't running the day that I went to DTD because of high winds so I took the bus. On the way back to POFQ there was a couple who were going on Magical Express when they got back to POFQ. They had expected the bus to stop at FQ first, before going to POR, but it didn't. It made all four POR stops before going to FQ. We finally got to FQ 5 minutes before their scheduled pick up time. I assume that they made it but that is cutting it much too close for me.

I for sure don't want to miss my ride to the airport!!!! I might rethink this and just relax at the resort until time to go. I would be totally freaked out if I had to get myself to the airport!

We did this very thing 2 weeks ago. Our flight was at 3:30 and our DME bus was scheduled for 12:25. We took the bus from the Yacht Club to Downtown Disney 1st thing in the morning and then took a taxi back to the hotel. The taxi was ~$15.

thanks ejpats....here is what might sound like a silly question, but I honestly don't know. How do you get a taxi? I am taking a really simple cell phone with me. Not a smart phone. How would I know what cab co. to call etc? and where would it pick me up? I have never traveled alone and really haven't traveled at all. I am embarrassed to ask, but if I don't, I'll never know. We would like to eat breakfast at WPE.

You can see the locations of the taxi stands on this map.

If for some reason there is isn't one there (which is unlikely) you can call mears at (407) 422-2222.

Alesia's map is very helpful, as it shows you exactly where you need to go. You will have no trouble getting a taxi at that time. There were at least 4-5 taxis lined up just waiting for business.
