Leaving Aulani today - some thoughts

@Soccerluvinmama, were there smaller kids on your dolphin excursion? My oldest, who is 8 mentioned he wanted to see dolphins. I remembered your review and I am thinking about doing this. I am not quite sure how my 6 year old would handle it, I think my 8 year old would be ok. Just curious if it was all adults or if there was children too. Thanks!

Yes, there were! I don't think there were any under 8, but in that 8-10 range, there were more than a few! My only suggestion is make sure he's comfortable in the snorkel gear before you go so you don't have to fuss with it.

Great! Thank you! I bought them a mask and snorkel and they have been practicing in the bath tub and plan to practice more once it is warm enough to swim in the pool at my parents house. =) They are excited, but their first question was about sharks:eek:

crystal1313, I think we might be twins! I know we have been posting on a lot of the same messages these last few months! I bought my girls snorkel gear as well, and they are experts at it "in the bathtub". We were planning to try it in grandma's pool before we leave, but we leave Saturday and it has been raining here.... I guess they will have trial by fire in Aulani!!

I am so excited for you @twodogs!! I know, we have so many similar messages, I love it!! I cannot wait to hear all about your trip!! =) Mine are pretty much experts in the tub as well. SO funny!!

Is the hotel next door still under construction and if so, was it annoying or loud? I will be at Aulani in a couple of weeks and have a spa appointment booked. If the construction is still going on, then I think I will cancel my appointment. Don't want to pay all that $$ to relax and then hear construction noise.

I can't say for sure, but it looks like you can start booking rooms at the Four Seasons tomorrow, so hopefully the construction is done (or no longer too disruptive).
