Is anyone else's family a nut about doing this every time they go on vacation to Disney? DH thinks I am crazy, but goes along with it. The kids love it and it is a kick to go back and look at the pics from months and years past. :yay:

How much does it cost and how many people can get in 1 photo?

Every time we have done it, it has only been the four of us. We do me and DH in one and DD and DS in the other. Now that we are adopting my nephew, I will have to see if they will do the three kids in one frame. Not sure how that works.

I think the cost was something like $35 or $38 per tile, but we get the AP discount, so it costs us less than that. I like that they send you an xray type of picture in the mail showing you your tile (in case you weren't still at Disney to see it mounted up). I have not gotten around to scrapbooking them all, but one of these days when I find the time and motivation it will make for some cool pages.

Not a nut about doing it every time we go, just a nut about seeing it every time we go! Here's a picture from our visit to our tile on our last trip.

DH and I had that done on our honeymoon. I'd eventually like to get one done of our daughters. I could be wrong, but I think they have a 2 person per tile max.

It's kind of neat to be a part of Disney!

At Epcot. Right after you go through the turnstiles at the main gate there are those stone pillars in front of Spaceship Earth. The photo tiles are affixed to the stone pillars. As you approach Spaceship Earth they have a kiosk set up giving you the info and then if you choose to do it, it is off to the right hand side (opposite side of where stroller and wheelchair rental is). Once your pics are taken, they will affix your tile to one of the stone pillars within 48 hours.

Half the fun for us is finding our last pics from the trip before. They send you an xray looking type of photo in the mail of the one they are putting on the pillars and then they give you the location. No need to worry if you lose that...if you go to Epcot and just give your name and such to one of the Leave a Legacy CM's they will find your location for you. We always get our photos taken in front of our last tile. It's just a lot of fun to see how much we have changed trip to trip and year to year. This way we are always at Disney too! :upsidedow

I think it is great! We had ours done in 2000 and always look for it every time we go. My Mom and Step-Dad also did it that year. My Mom passed away in 2003 but I can always go and see her at Disney World. (I still get teary at Illuminations, it was her favorite)

I never asked the price, I always assumed it would be more than that. This is something we'll definitely have to do next time!

We had this done about 4yrs ago. Even though we have the codes for finding it we still struggle to find it. Getting more use now that we go every year. You could only get 2 people on so myself and DD had it done.

Wow - thanks so much for this thread. I thought it was waaayyy more than $40 - and I'm a AP holder! :)

I also didn't know that you could leave a message - thought it was only photos!

disneynut14 - so sorry about your mom, but I love the idea that you can still see her in Disney.

DH & I did this in 2000. We found our tile once after that, but I always forget to bring the little card that has the location of the tile on it, so we haven't seen our tile in about 5 or 6 years! I'd love to get another one done next year with the kids, but we have 3 kids now so I guess we'd have to get 2 tiles.

The podcasts have mentioned that the booths that sell these are closing soon, I am not sure how much longer they will offer this, If anyone has heard were they might be selling these after the booths close feel free to post it.

:sad1: I hadn't heard that...boy, they have SOOOOO many empty pillars still. I wonder why they have decided to do that. I figured they would stop selling once they filled up-kind of like they did with the bricks you could buy around MK.

If anyone hears a date or new news...keep us posted!

I have to have my son done. His first trip was on a wish. I vowed that I would take him each year from then on. It takes us out of reality, if only for a fleeting moment! He is so happy at Disney, so careful and so full of life....

We did it this last October on our first trip. My husband said it would be our gift to him. He really thought it was neat. I can't wait to go back and see it in Oct. 2008.

I didn't get a chance to do it last time we were there. So this August we will definately do it while we are there. We are a family of 5 so I think after reading the posts in this thread we will need 3 tiles. It will be a little expensive but well worth it.

We have one tile which I thought was awesome, but I never thought of getting one every trip. I love that idea!!!
