leave a legacy

can anyone help me with what it costs to 'leave a legacy' at epcot. this is the engraved photograph feature where it is mounted on a plinth within epcot.

I am not sure how much it cost now but it was $35.00 for a 1" square when they first started it,back in 2000. It seems way too small for the price so they weren't having many takers. Here is a bump so maybe you can get a better answer.

Leave A Legacy - Introduced for the Millennium Celebration! Granite and steel sculptures are being covered with engraved images of Guests from all over the world. Here's how it works: Photo Capture Stations will take your photo digitally. It will then be etched onto a steel tile. Within approximately four days, the tile will become part of the stone sculptures.

The cost is $35 for one image per tile, $38 for two images per tile, plus tax.

We had 2 leave a legacy tiles done in Aug. of last year. We were disappointed with the procedure to get it done. There was 1 older lady there (light haired) who was very rude. We wanted to have photos done of my 2 nad 5 yr. old and the 2 year old was a little fearful. They did not seem to have any toys to keep him engaged nor did they seem very professional. Our tiles turned out fine but we just had a bad encounter with a not so nice CM.

We are thinking of doing this (finally) on this trip...We will be at WDW 10 nights....if we were to go day 1, would the tiles ( we need 2) be ready to be seen before we leave on day 10? I think I better make a phone call on this one....but if anyone has recently had it done and has any really current info, I would be very grateful!

You can see the photo on their computer and approve it and take it over. You have to wait for them to mail your special document to you. I think it took 4-6 weeks. They send it in a cute grey folder with a transparency of your photo. The photo is very small. Below the photo - it has a location of where your tile is located - for example south wall B56477....
I do not know how long it took for them to put in on the wall. We had in done in Aug. and it was on the wall in March.
