just got 3 nights in january for a quick trip to wdw! we were able to get the $49.00 rate at All Stars (new experience for us) so all three nights are a total of $166.00 - yea! we are trying to keep the costs for this trip really low so are looking for the most reasonably priced (but still good) places to eat --- wolfgang puck or earl of sandwich is one night but need two other nights -
thanks!

We LOVE the Plaza Restaurant at the MK--salads, souops and sandwiches (and great shakes and desserts). A lot of people say this is not worth a table service credit on the dining plan becasue it is relatively cheap. We don't really look at the prices on the dining plan--we look at the quality of the food and the service. Plaza has become our final meal of every trip without fail.

It's not really cheap, but I suggest Boma. You get a good deal for the price, even if it is a pricey Disney buffet. My cheap favorites are:

1. To order appetizers at ESPN club at Boardwalk. They are big enough for a meal.

2. The Fountain at the Dolphin. Good burgers, nice dessert and friendly staff. One night 12 of us went near closing time. We got great, made to order food. The waitress gave us brownies, cookies and other left-over baked goods to take home with us as they were closing down. We gladly had them the next day.

The Plaza and Beaches & Cream would be the cheapest TS places that I would recommend.

We love The Plaza but haven't eaten there in awhile since we have gotten DDP most trips. Love their sandwiches!

Beaches & Cream has the best burgers on property and their desserts are wonderful.

We love the Plaza too. I also like Tony's, in that they have huge portions that can be shared. Its not gourmet but we have enjoyed our meals there.

We also really like ESPN Zone for appetizers. For example in October we went in there starving one night and got: Nachos, one chicken ceaser salad and one order of fries for the four of us. It was more than enough food and we have a teenage son who can eat his weight. It was a lot of fun and an easy boat ride or walk from Epcot.

I think places that aren't buffets are cheaper since you can share.

KatMark, I so agree with your thing about not looking for the best "deal" on the DDP. To me it all evens out and I find the food at the Plaza to be consistently good and now that the appetizer is long gone on the DDP, its even better. They have wonderful desserts!

My first thought is also the Plaza Inn in MK.

A good alternate is Kona Cafe and order the Stickey Wings Appetizer as a main course. It has about a dozen wing pieces as well as a decent-sized salad. I will often choose that as my main course.

I was going to say Plaza too! Very casual, but fresh and yummy. :thumbsup2

Not sure price wise, but Kona Cafe is good too... a little more casual than some of the others (but I'm sure it's more than the Plaza) MAybe the same for Yak & Yeti, too.

Enjoy!

The Plaza is great! I agree with everyone there.

We also think 50s Prime Time Cafe is reasonable for Disney.

Ditto!

We really like the Crystal Palace. I'm picky about buffets but this one is great! Lots of really good food items to choose from.

I would rather go to Boma or cape may cafe for a nice decent buffet for a fixed price of $26.99 for adult.
The cost includes a non-alcoholic drink and best of all, there are meat carving stations and dessert bars, yummo.

I think Liberty Tree Tavern has a reasonable lunch and it's delicious! I think 50's Prime Time is the same price lunch or dinner but I could be wrong; either way it's pretty reasonable too and the pot roast is yummy. :)

Part of the reason DH and I won't be doing the dining plan is we really like some of the less-expensive TS meals, plus I'd rather have an occasional appetizer and rarely ever a dessert.

50s Prime Time is reasonable by Disney standards, and we've always had good meals there. A bit more expensive but still a deal b/c of the variety and quantity is the lunch buffet at Tusker House -- you can eat really late and skip dinner!

Another vote for Beaches and Cream.....love it!!!

How about Trails End Buffet at the campground? Very yummy buffet, and very reasonable. (I think around $19.99 for dinner?)

Plaza is excellent. We also love Nine Dragons in Epcot. Definitely able to share portions.

I really like Trail's End for a buffet dinner. And don't discount the food court: some of the hot meal-type items are quite good.

For counter service we love Columbia Harbor House in Magic Kingdom and Pizzafari in AK. The french CS place in Epcot is truly excellent for a lunch. They had sandwiches for $3-4, and all kinds of delicious pastries for a few dollars each. One of my favorite things I found on my last trip.
