Least crowded delux pool?

I know all the pools are crowded during the summer months, but I've been reading a lot of reviews that say SAB at the YC/BC is extremely crowded. I thought the YC was going to be our destination next summer but I just cannot make up my mind about it and was possibly thinking about BWI, OKW, GF, AKL and some other delux resorts for next summer.

I don't really care if there are a lot of people in the pools, because I know there will be, I just don't want to be right on top of everyone in the pool. Same thing goes with the hot tubs, I've only used the hot tub at SOG and CR and I've never found either of those crowded (even during the evening/night time hours).

So for those of you who go to Disney during the summer months, which delux resort do you feel has the least crowded main pool and hot tub?

It all depends on how full the resort is at the time you are there.
SAB serves both YC and BC as well as BCV but is many times larger than the other deluxe resort pools, actually more of a mini water park so there are more people but not more per square foot. There are also 3 additional quiet pools.

The only Deluxe Resorts so far that my family and I have stayed at is the Contemporary and Wilderness Lodge, so to answer you're question I would say the Contemporary is the least crowded.

We stayed at the Beach Club in March, and SAB was one of the highlights of the trip. In March it never felt too crowded, but I don't know how close to capacity the resorts were. Like a previous poster said, SAB is huge - much larger than any other pool, so i would guess it would be easier to find a relatively empty section there than in the other pools.

i bet you don't have the same strategy as me when I was there last... We never bothered to get adjusted to east coast time so we would sleep in some, go to parks all day, come back to the hotel and I'd spend a while in the pool, go in and shower at like 1:30-2am and go to bed
The pool at WL is usually pretty open then, but I had a little company every time iirc.
The only day I was in the pool during daylight was the 4th of July, and needless to say there was a lot of people around that day.

Swan & Dolphin's pool area has always been empty when I go. The majority of the guests are always conventioneers so it's always empty when I've seen it.

We were just at the BC from Jul 6th-13th and to be honest we wern't on top of anyone. It was a crowded time of the year, kids were playing no one was bumping into each other, etc. Yes, there were many people in the pool but I never felt crowded we were able to swim, my kids dug in the sand at the bottom of the pool and all kinds of things. Sometimes the line for the waterslide seemed long, but that would have happened at any pool.

As for chairs if you are willing to walk around the whole area you should find something, we always found 2 chairs together and we went mid afternoon or later.

We've stayed at the YC, BC and GF in Nov (also walked around at the Poly on our last trip). The GF pool was not very crowded at all...especially compared to Poly. It was sort of a rainy day, but we saw GF pool which had only a few people in it, then took monorail to Poly, which was packed!

We were at the BC June 23-29. It was not crowded. It is a huge area and at time there would be whole sections with no one in them.

We've been there for the last 5 years during the July 4th week. It is not that bad then to us.

In compariosn this year we stayed 3 nights at SSR before going to BC. At SSR the pool was more crowded and you were sorta on top of people. not that way at BC at all. We were able to get a table at the pool everyday with no trouble and I got front row lounge chair in the middle of the day.

They are goign around pulling towels off chairs if they are there with no person or personal items this year. I think it has helped.

We were at the BC from June 26 - July 3. We went to the pool early afternoon/evenings and never had a problem finding chairs and never bumped into anyone in the pool. As previously stated the line for the slide would back-up sometimes but never more than a 5min wait.

I also have to add that SAB was awesome. It was much more than I had expected and would be one of the main reasons we would choose BC/YC for our next visit.

I agree that the Swan Dolphin pool was not terribly crowded when we stayed there. It did seem like the fact that the hotel caters to conventioneers helped. It's a great pool by the way.

We've stayed at GF, Poly,CR, and BC. Of these pools, I'd pick GF as being the least crowded. Poly was the worst in terms of being crowded. My kids LOVED SAB, that's why we're staying at YC in August. I was leaning towards staying at WL, but the kids won out ( we are staying at WL for 1 night though!). The pool at GF is really pretty with the zero-entry looking out over the lagoon, and the kids liked the slide there, too. Also, my kids were totally unimpressed with the pool at CR.

I've stayed at every deluxe except AKL, and I'd vote for the Contemporary having the crowded pool. The GF has the best quiet pool though, and was, for many years, its only pool until the aesthetically unrepresentative rock pool was added.
