I've got just 1 day to spend in DLP - been 2x before but need another fix - I'm a long time Disneyland CA AP holder. Previously I went in winter and the park crowd was very light. This is our first try in summer - it will be sometime in the period of July 22-July 26. Any suggestions for the best day to go? Anything added in the last 3 years?
My DH isn't the Disney addict I am, so 1 day is it ( last time we didn't even get to the Louvre!) I'm not going to bother with the Studios - from what I've read it seems mostly similar to what we have in the states except for the Crush Coaster, and it's not worth the extra time/$ to me ( unless you all think otherwise).

I was shocked at the hotel prices - the first time we went we stayed at the Santa Fe and drove to Paris since it was so much cheaper than the other way around. Sure doesn't look that way anymore!

Thanks for your help. If any of you make it to CA I'm on that side of the boards all the time.

No opinions? Firday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday or Tuesday less crowded in summer?

As it's main school holiday time for all of Europe, I really don't think there will be a lot of difference between any of the days but if I had to say one day I'd go for Friday 22nd July because it's not a weekend and many UK schools don't actually break up until that day.

I love Disney Studios so can't imagine not popping in, if only to look at the Partner's statue and see Cinemagique (never tire of this show) plus last year a whole new land opened there, Toy Story Playland with three new rides. Have a look here and see if it appeals to you.

Have you considered staying offsite at one of the non-Disney hotels at DLP ie Explorers, Dream Castle, Magic Circus or Kyriad? They're very close - 30 minutes walk or 5 minutes free shuttle bus ride away but generally much more reasonably priced.

Thanks for the offer of help re CA - we're still toying with a visit there in 2013 so you may well see me over your part of the boards one day! :)

Thanks Ware Bears - I sure didn't know the UK school schedule. Think I'll go with the Friday then. I see that if I buy in advance I can get the 2 park ticket for only a bit more, and reading around I see that Cinemagique is highly though of so I might try that. Surprised to see Crush is closed for refurb then - that was the other thing I've read is great there. We have a Partners statue in CA DL so that's not as big a draw although I do love it. Did you know the height of Mickey in that statue is based on a movement Walt made when he was doing the voice for The Pointer? They copied the movement in the cartoon as well - it's when he introduces himself to the bear.

Friday 22nd does seem like the best option although you should still be prepared for high crowd levels.
It's a tough one re the studios because while I do love it it might've difficult for you to fit both parks into one day. For me the main draws to studios are tower of terror, crush and cinemagique.
I'm planning on incorporating a visit to disneyland CA into a US trip next year - I've already been over to that section of the boards for some preliminary advice and everyone was super helpful.
