Leary about having purchases sent to resort...

Have had each family member (4) send multiple packages on multiple trips to the resort. Never had a problem! :)

I've never had any problems sending purchases to my resort and it just might be my favorite perk. I hate carrying stuff with me and this makes life so much simpler.

Absolute BEST perk I think, haha. CMs are supposed to ask every person if they want it sent to the hotel or front of the park, but a lot of them 'forget' so just ask. I send every little thing back - last trip my mom and aunt made fun of me, but by the time you buy 5 or 10 little things, it adds up!

Not necessarily on topic, just slightly off, but a little tip I wanted to throw out there for anyone who wants to send stuff to the front of the park. (I used to work merch a few years ago) Typically you'll be told that you can't use this in the last 3 hours of the parks operating hours. However, if you ask nicely to a CM that isn't terribly busy if they can check and see if the last pickup has been made, they can go in back and check. If it hasn't been picked up yet, they should let you. I used to do that all the time when it was getting close. They need to leave a little buffer - the pickup people come in the backdoor so we rarely ever saw them unless we were in the stock room. They do a loop of the park, so depending on where the store falls in that loop, sometimes the last pickup is an hour and a half before park closes, or 10 minutes before park closes. So it can't hurt to ask.

Also, you can still have things sent to your room after last pickup if you don't need it the next day. It'll just sit in the stockroom until the first pickup the next morning so you'll recieve it on the 2nd day. Good to know if you plan on going anywhere after the park closes or simply don't feel like hauling everything onto the crowded buses.

We use it a lot too. Its so nice not having to carry things around for the day. Never had a bad expirence with it.

If you do get things embroidered or customized it could take a couple days instead of the next day. But they do ask when you are leaving to make sure.

I agree with the "mail it home" (although I do absolutely love the resort delivery option and use it quite regularly). Disney's packing is incredible, I've had a box arrive caved in on the side and everything in the package not only intact, but in perfect working condition! The one time a snowglobe didn't work right when it arrived, I called Disney and they replaced it without any problems! Having that extra insurance of getting an expensive purchase home safely is worth it!!

Yep, both on the resort delivery and mail it home. Mailing it home is somewhat nicer (though you don't have your STUFF!). We've also done the front of the park pick up.

Sometimes the resort pick up can be time consuming - basically don't go to the Screen Door at the Boardwalk when Illuminations lets out! Or the Mercantile at WL right after MK closes!

Tinkerbell60: If you're switching resorts just put the new resort that you'll be at. I asked a CM when purchasing something at MGM Studios and he told me to do that. It was there when we checked in the next day!

We only used it once. Because it was late in the day when we bought the items, it took 2 days to get them.

Like Pins or postcards, I don't bother. But I do use this service on my first day at the parks. I try to buy what I need and pick them up the next day. ;) They DO leave a Message on your hotel phone when it comes into the shop. :cool1:
