Learned something new about special cleaning requests

Ok, I've been to Disney a ton of times. I need special cleaning in the room for health issues

In the past we have always had special cleaning instructions noted on the reservations. Then we would call the resort to remind them of the special cleanings the day of check-in.

So this time room not clean correctly, etc etc
So I speak with the head of house keeping over at the wilderness lodge.

Apparently if u need special cleaning they prefer if u call 1-2 days before your check-in.
Not same day. We had been having ok luck calling same day but not this time. They, house keeping, prefer the advanced notice.

Thought I would spread the word to the place where I learned you could get special cleaning so u don't get sick on vacation.

I'm just happy I'm sitting my room and it's clean and safe for me.

I learned special requests on the reservation can get lost somehow. We need first floor and sometimes we need special cleaning I request when making reservations then call a few weeks before, then the week before, Then the day before to make sure it's right. Several times over the years it disappeared from our reservation
