Placed $200 Kohls order last Monday--mostly undergarments for me! A couple workout tops & socks for DD, couple tees for DH & a portable phone charger. All CHEAP--great deals plus 15% off.

Get message Friday it was delivered to my school. We swing by & see no packages; hmmmm, maybe they hold since school was closed Friday. Left early yesterday & today STILL no package. I see it says "put in mailbox"--hmmmm....no mailbox at school.

I look at address & it says my schools name, correct zip, BUT the street name apparently didn't all get typed out--it says "D" instead of "Dodge" OH NO!!!! And we DO have a "D" street--tho in a different zip code.

Call Kohls to change the address on the rest of the order that has NOT shipped yet. NOPE they CANNOT change the address! SERIOUSLY??!!

This is my error, I guess, I am SO mad!

Going to drive by this address after work; not in a great part of town, but hopefully they are nice (or a guy!) & have no interest in the stuff I sent them!

Lesson learned--DOUBLE (TRIPLE!) CHECK THE SHIPPING ADDRESS BEFORE SUBMITTING ORDER!

I've sent a package to an old address before. Not sure why Amazon changed my primary shipping to it but somehow the system did. We called the old property manager and explained to him the situation who then called the current tenants and asked to leave the box (30 pounds of dog food) at the porch.

I'm with you - ALWAYS check the address! I've since deleted ALL old addresses from my accounts.

Hope everything works out for you!

Last year sent a package to my neighbor's house instead of ours. Husband walked across the street and picked it up. They never even knew about it.

A few months ago I ordered from a website for an item for myself. I didn't realize my default shipping address was still my military overseas address from 2012. I callled the military post office and they can only forward to my next mailing address for up to one year after leaving. They did do an immediate return to sender. I called the company to update my address and they forwarded it to me when it arrived back to their warehouse.

I learned to go in and update account info before ordering and making changes and edit address's and or remove them.

When we first moved to this house, I forgot to change my Amazon shipping address and an order went to the old house about 30 minutes away.
So I called the people who bought it (luckily they were listed) and left them a voice message asking if they could please all me when it arrived.
They were nice enough to do so and I went over and picked it up. They also gave me a tour of the changes they'd made to the house already. Painting and such. LOL

I got lucky that time but lesson learned for sure!

My mom screwed up the address once. She put the city name twice, didn't put the street onto it... it still showed up though. haha.

GOOD NEWS--it showed up today.
Not sure if it was caught by UPS or the house when they left it--there actually was NO house at 2200 D (the house at 22nd & D had 2202 as the address)
I am going to call or swing by UPS & see if there is anything I can do to correct the address for the rest of the order; thinking it will have to leave Kohls warehouse & get a tracking number first then they may be able to help me.

Glad it showed up!

This happened to us when ordering from J.C. Penney. They used our old address to ship to, even though we switched it and chose the correct current address. It somehow switched back when the order was placed.

I caught it as soon as I got the email confirmation of the order, and called them right away, but they said the order had already shipped  . I had just placed the order!

They were not helpful at all, so we had to call UPS, but they missed holding one package at the UPS location, so we had to go grab it from the porch of our old house in the middle of the day :rolleyes2

That was a fun experience!

Once you have the tracking number, UPS will be able to help you. I made a similar mistake before and UPS went above and beyond to make sure I got my package.

I learned to double check this season, too! Ordered a whole bunch of SmartWool socks off of zulily. I decided to add another batch right after the first one and take advantage of the free shipping for orders placed the same day. Discovered on the second batch that for some reason the address on the first order was my daughter's and not mine. I called (it had only been a few minutes) and was first told they would switch the address to mine, but then the agent said, "oh! I'm sorry. I can't switch it because your daughter lives in another state." So the first order has to go to my daughter and the second order, with my correct address, required me to also pay shipping since it was a different address :crazy2:. The zulily lady was very nice and gave me a $10 credit for my trouble. The kicker is that I just got an email from zulily telling me my order was 'delayed' and might not come at all . I've had that happen before; they sometimes oversell on popular items.

We moved last year right after Thanksgiving, so I made sure to slow down on ordering gifts until we were at the new place. Well when I started back up, I failed to change most of the addresses so my first two weeks were spent unpacking and running back to the other house for packages. Thankfully the place was empty for a month after we moved and we only moved 3 streets away lol.
