Can someone explain how this works?
We want to for breakfast about 9:30-10.
Do we get seated and then order?
Or order first and then tell a team member we did mobile order?
How long should we expect to wait for our table/food?
As long we we get our mobile order in before 10:30 can we get breakfast? Or do they stop taking breakfast orders earlier?

They will have you wait in line to be seated then submit your order. We generally have our order “ready to go” then click submit as soon as we are seated to speed up the process. We have had pretty quick service this way. As long as the menu appears and can be added to cart you can order it. The items no longer display when they are switching menus/become unavailable.

does this mean we can’t place a mobile order while walking around? We have to be seated at the restaurant? That seems contrary to the point of doing mobile order.

how long is the wait to get in and get seated, on a busy day at lunchtime? I was thinking mobile order would make things faster, but I’ve only done Disney mobile order. This sounds like a totally different process.

thanks for helping me figure this out!

You can place the mobile order any time, but just not hit "Prepare Order" yet until you are seated or nearly seated.

How Three Broomsticks was working during lunch was you got in line, mobile ordered while in line, then waited til being seated to hit "prepare order." They were crazy crazy slow, and it wasn't a real busy day. It was probably 30min before beverages arrived. I went up to the bar to grab us waters in the meantime. Another 15min or so for food. Another day we mobile ordered at Thunder Terrace (in Jurassic Park area) with more or less the same menu as Three Broomsticks, and they had the order ready and to the table within about 3 minutes.

Ok thanks.
Is it a long wait for a table in mid morning?
The line varies by day and time. We have had waits up to a half hour to get seated but other times walked right in. Another thing I’ll add is if you need condiments let them know right up front because it’s very hard to flag anyone down to ask since they are running all over delivering orders

I really feel sorry for them. What they are required to do now is beyond what they were hired for.

What makes me nuts is that it would such a simple change to add a text box to the mobile order where you could enter your Table Number. That would save some of the running around that they have to do.

At Three Broomsticks, you had to scan your Table number so they know where to take the order. Also Burger Digs (is that the right name?) had the same method. Though a text box would be really helpful because we needed things like an extra plate for sharing, more silverware, condiments, and it was hard to figure out how to get them.

How do you do that? Do you remember? That must have been added since our last trip.

Right after you place the food order, the app tells you to either enter the table number or scan it, or I think at some places you can select a walk up option. All the tables have stickers with numbers and QR codes on them. We also saw it in the pizza place at citywalk. We still found the ordering/serving kind of chaotic, but it seems they have at least made some improvements!

Does anyone know how mobile ordering works if you have food allergies and need to speak to someone?

If you don't mobile order, someone will come to your table after a few minutes to see if you need anything. We did this when we wanted to order from the kids menu, which is not always in the app. I assume they would be the one to talk to about allergies and dietary restrictions.

How does Leaky Cauldron breakfast compare to 3 Broomsticks? I was thinking Leaky Cauldron because I want to start in Diagon Alley unless people think food/atmosphere is much better at 3 Broomsticks!

In October my daughter and I placed an order for breakfast and stood in line for over thirty minutes. By the time we reached the front to be seated our order was gone. They had switched to lunch and it wiped out our breakfast order. The server seated us and let us reorder lunch at the table. Try to make sure you have plenty of time if your heart is set on breakfast and you are close to the cutoff. I thought since the app took our breakfast order we were okay. We enjoyed lunch instead.

First visit is coming up for us. It seems there is a line to enter according to what I am reading. Will they let you into either the Three Broomsticks or Leaky Cauldron just to look around or would you have to wait in line? I ask because I will only have time to actually dine in one, but I would like to see the inside of the other. Since I will not be eating or taking a table, I would not want to wait in line.

Do you have to pre order? or can you just go to the counter and order your meal? It seems doing this would be more efficient, you know, like it used to be?

You can still walk up and order. I recommend it. I was in line for dinner at 3 Broomsticks in Dec, the line was moving slowly and the TM at the entrance said we could save 30 minutes in line by sitting at a table and mobile ordering. So I did, as did most of the people sitting around me. Then the mobile order system went haywire. No food was coming out, the guy at the next table went to investigate and said there was all kinds of food piling up behind the serving area but nothing was being brought out. IT TOOK AN HOUR for them to figure out the problem, come to all our tables and manually write down what we had ordered on paper, then get the food out. Such a mess!
