My Cousin asked me to posts this here for ideas. She has a 7 month old baby boy, and he has problems with his diaper leaking at night. The leakage tends to occur at the top of the diaper around his waist. Has anyone had this problem with their baby boys, and has anyone found a disposable diaper that works better than others to control this problem. She thought maybe it was an "aim" issue, but has made sure that his "business" was aimed correctly and the problem still occured :rotfl: Any suggestions?

We use Huggies Overnights, they are the only diaper my daughter didn't leak through at night. We were at a loss there for awhile. I can't recommend those enough.

We used Huggies Overnights as soon as the girls were big enough to fit in them, and we never had a leak at night after switching. DD3 (then one year old) once slept 16 hours straight and her Huggies Overnight didn't leak - I felt like I should send Huggies a thank you note!

I always used Pampers Swaddlers and then Cruisers and rarely had a leakage. Some of my friends have sworn by Huggies Overnights, but since we haven't had trouble I never tried them.

I usually found that when my dd started to leak at night, it was time to use a bigger diaper. I have always had better luck with pampers cruisers at night than huggies.

I agree! :thumbsup2 I've found the same to be true with all 3 of my girls.

I use Luvs!! I hate HUGGIES and PAMPERS, they have always leaked with both of my girls, and I used to use the Parent's Choice or White Cloud brand, but ever since the new design they came out with they have leaked...I guess I have bad luck with diapers!! :sad2:

My youngest son had this problem and Huggies Supremes and Overnights were a Godsend! :thumbsup2

I use Pampers Cruisers and he doesn't leak unless my DH puts the diaper on right before bed, he doesn't put it on tight enough. My son is older (18 months old ) and I just don't let him drink after 7 pm, he goes to bed at 8. He sleeps for at least 12 hours and we haven't had a leak in a long time.

Huggies and Pampers were awful for my little guy. he is now 9months old and i'm in LOVE with LUVS!!! they are GREAT in the overnite!!!!!

We tried EVERYTHING with him, EVEN the generics (TOYS R Us brand wasn't that bad) but LUVS worked best for him.

I think you have to try things out. I swear by Huggies with both boys. Regular during the day and Overnights at night. My boys leaked out of Pampers. I've also had several people say White Cloud worked just like Huggies for them.

Thanks for all the great advice. I will direct her to this thread and she can go from there.

I was having the EXACT same problem with my 6 month old. He sleeps from about 9 pm-6 am and was really filling up the diaper and he was starting to leak out the top. It wasn't an aim or size issue....just a volume issue :rotfl:

We use Pampers Cruisers during the day...but after reading the other thread on here we bought the Pampers Overnites for him to use in bed. We haven't had a leak since switching to them a few weeks ago. We use the Pampers Cruisers during the day and the Overnite at bedtime.

I think the smallest the Overnites come in though is a size 4. Our son is pretty big, so he fit the lower weight limit for the Size 4 even though he wears a size 3 during the day with no problem. So my other suggestion would be to maybe try a larger size at night?

I too agree. When my son started leaking out at night, I tried the next size up. I like the pampers line of diapers.

ALSO.......they make a pad (the concept is the same as for us ladies) that go in diapers. Will suck up the extra that the diaper can't.
Forgive me because I don't know the name of it. We live in Virginia outside of DC and they are sold at one food store around here Safeway and also the local BABIES R US. Call babies r us and see if they are selling them by you. This way you don't have to drive there to find out.

Good luck....

try different types of diapers--while you have people swearing by Huggies here, they never worked for ANY of my 3 boys, leaked the most. Also, try a different size. With DS#2, he could always were a size smaller (any brand or type of diaper) around him, but he'd frequently need the next size up sooner for absorbancy.

Leaking disposables is why we switched to cloth diapers. Maybe she should give that a try? Since we've used cloth we haven't had any leaks. :)
