Leadership Casting Call

I only live a few hours away and take trip to downtown Disney a lot. Last visit (a week ago) I talked to a manager at “World Of Disney” she was a manager. She said that she started in the retail side and within about 6 months was a manager. She said that she got in on something called a “Leadership Casting Call”. Can anyone comment on what that is? Is it hard to get into? How long does it take if you work hard to be a manager?

Also, I hear that Disney offers training for cast members that can help you move up faster. I only know that it is free to cast members and they say it help get promoted…love details on that.

I think its great to have a company that is willing to take a chance (if you can call it that) on a hard working person even if they don't have a MBA in business, Walt didn't.

I should add that I am in retail management and merchandising and my wife is a beautician so those are the areas we will focus our start in. She will stay in that area but I don't care what direction I go in as long as the ladder goes up. If anyone wants to feel free to PM me if you don't want to post to much inside info. We have worked really hard for the last 3 years trying to make this happen and I really would appreciate any information you could share.
