Leaded Disneyland - New Lawsuit

Guess they never heard of proper hand washing. With all the people who stream through the parks on a daily basis, I think lead is the least of our concerns.

Some people have way too much time on their hands....

Some people really need to get a life.

These people who get all wigged out over lead rarely have any idea how much lead must be ingested...or how much over what period of time...before it becomes harmful.

They just like to wig.

You have got to be kidding me! They had some "sneak" test items in the park?!?!?!? How do they know the person that "volunteered" did everything correct? Things like that, not being done in a labortory, are not very reliable or accurate if you ask me. Sounds to me like they could use their time and money much more efficiently.

All right folks, don't let your toddlers teeth on the metal chain ropes in the queues.

Or lick the windows

:rotfl:

Of course, if Disney wants to do away with the nasty nasty leaded windows, I'll gladly take them off their hands...

Here's what the CDC says:
Approximately 250,000 U.S. children aged 1-5 years have blood lead levels greater than 10 micrograms of lead per deciliter of blood, the level at which CDC recommends public health actions be initiated.

Here's what he article said they found:
The tests found hand lead exposures at the Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan Ride and Mr. Toad's Wild Ride of 1 microgram, 9.75 micrograms and 5.82 micrograms respectively, Mateel said.

Now keep in mind that the people doing the testing is what they pulled off their hands on a swipe test, not actual blood levels. How much a person would have to ingest to get up to the CDC level of action I do not know, but it's way more than what the Mateel group found.

Seems to me they are just trying to make a name for themselves in the same way many consumer protection groups do.

I did think that it had to be ingested to be harmful (too lazy to google :lmao:). I read it and thought "Well what kind of idiot is gonna chew on a window?" Then I remembered that my favorite show is Worlds Dumbest on TruTV:rotfl2:

There is a small amount of absorbtion through the skin.

Window licking is now going to have a social stigma attached.

This will probably become the next "hot button" issue.

"If my child / boyfriend / wife etc. wants to lick the windows, who cares? If Disney doesn't have a policy and it isn't posted, than Disney doest mind. We're going to just keep licking windows until we are told to stop."

It's funny because it's true.:3dglasses

Those window lickers will be the ones that will sue after they get sick and blame Disney for not telling them window licking could be hazardous and have a cast member physically stop them.

Yeah, and there probably hasn't been one person in 56 years that's been harmed in any way by any lead at Disneyland but now that they claiming it's dangerous all these cases will pop up for thier lawsuit.

It's only because there are people who think we should only be allowed to lick the windows during our allotted times, when we all know we can lick them anytime we want...
