Hi Disfriends,

My family has a spring break trip coming up the week of March 10th. I was pleased with the ADRs I was able to snag, but I have a reservation question. I have a reservation for two at Space 220 that I booked with the idea that my two DSs (aged 22 and 19) will use this reservation. DH and I will be meeting friends at a restaurant in DS that night and we will be on the friends' reservation.

I am the lead on our resort (OKW) and all dining reservations. Will it be a problem for my kiddos to use the reservation that I booked for them at Space 220 if I am not there? What do I need to do to make sure they are able to dine there without difficulty? I'll be in DS at the time of their reservation.

Am I overthinking this and worrying too much, or is there something I need to do to make sure my guys can dine at Space 220 without DH and me?

Thanks for your advice!

All they have to do is check in/show up and give your name, there shouldn't be any problems. I've never been asked to show any type of ID for a dining reservation. The only thing is Space 220 won't charge the meal to the card you may have had to put on file to guarantee the reservation. They would have to pay at the end, either by cash, actual credit card, or room charge.

@Mle8303 thank you! That's what I thought, but then I started second guessing myself. My guys will just charge the meal on one of their magic bands. I was worried about their names not being on the reservation.

Thanks so much!

Agree with Mle- we were not asked for ID when checking in, or at any time.
Your kids will be fine!

They will have a great time! I did see you mention one is 22, remind him to bring his ID if he wants to order a drink. They have some cool ones! Disney is very strict on ID's (even though technically Space220 is third party, they are strict).

In 2022, I had to cancel my trip last minute. I was supposed to meet up with friends and all the ADRs were in my name. She did have me cancel one or two of them, but for the others, she just checked in using my name and letting them know it would only be 2 instead of 3. There were no issues at all.

Thanks, everyone! It's good to know so many of you haven't had problems when the lead on the ADR isn't there.

And @Mle8308 I'll definitely remind DS22 to bring his ID. He looks really young and gets carded everywhere he goes.

If you want them to charge the food to the room, then just make sure they have charging privileges. they are old enough that it should be on their bands, but possibly not if you didn't set it up that way. If you have a dining plan, children should automatically have access to those credits. Also, they will need a way to pay any gratuity, which could be handled with charging privileges, cash or another cc.

A few times, I've had faulty bands and I wasn't able to charge any DDP (or use it to open the room). So now I always check early in the trip to make sure all our bands are working by spreading out any charges, and we all take turns opening the room door.

@mickeyluv'r thanks for the reminder! Both my kiddos are definitely old enough to charge back to the room, but I can't recall if we set up charging privileges on their bands the last time they were with us? We were all together for spring break of 2023, and they had a buddy with them. I know we did not give the buddy charging privileges, but I'm thinking they must have been able to charge back to the room?

At any rate, I will make sure they are set up to have charging privileges on their bands. We will not have the DDP for this trip. Thanks so much!!

I would be sure to give them your reservation number, just in case.

I did this for my kids in December except I wasn’t on the trip. They stayed offsite with their dad so no charging privileges.

I made the reservation at VN for myself and DD so it showed up in her MDE. It wouldn’t allow me to change it from me to DS but I might not have tried hard enough. I wasn’t really worried about it too much. I just told them to show up and give my name. That’s what they did and it worked great.
