Lead guest when booking multiple rooms

I am looking to book three rooms online. In order to book them as quickly as possible, would I be able to use myself as the lead guest on each of the three rooms and leave off all the other quests information?

If so, the follow up questions are 1) At a later date, when I am not under the booking time pressure, can I then change two of the room's lead guest to our other travelers? Will that have to be done through MS? and 2) I assume that I can just add the other quests to each room as necessary later.

Yes
Follow up questions:
1. Yes, Yes either through chat or calling the lead guest can be switched.
2. Yes but if you are booking a 1 bedroom at BCV, BRV or BWV you would need to chat or call if you have a 5th person as it will not allow you to add them online.

Thank you for your response, very helpful and what I was hoping for.
Does your SO owner have a login? If so you should be able to book 2 of the rooms at the same time if you use two different browsers. Or you could do one normal one and the other in private/ incognito mode

That is a fascinating option. I thought that only one person could book under the membership number at the same time. So, if I use Chrome and she uses Safari you think we could book at the same time? Then I would have to just book two.

If I understand you correctly, it would be possible for me to book with Chrome and incognito for a second booking while my wife books the third with Safari.

Would that work the same if on my computer I open two browsers, Chrome and Microsoft Edge, while she does Safari? Wouldn't the DVC system be hung up taking the points from the applicable UY if running three bookings at the same time?

I think that I misread your response. You are not saying that I personally can use two browsers, you are saying that I use one and she uses another as long as it is not the same browser as me. Such as incognito or Safari. It's probably just one browser per login.

Yes if you had your SO login or was with you then you could book at the same time using 2 logins.

We tried that once and it didn’t work. It would error out with the second person when it came to booking because it still had to pull from the same contracts.

So, once we got to the contract screen, and tried to go farther only one could. The other got the dwarves.

That's what I would expect to happen, it makes sense.

After giving this more thought, I realized that this booking (three rooms) is going to be with transferred points. So I believe that I have to call MS anyways.

When you call MS and explain that you need three rooms, if available, do they put all three on some hold until we finish the bookings over the phone - so that the time pressure doesn't apply?

Last I knew, no, they do not have the ability to hold rooms. However, they can see how many are available.

If you are worried, you could do a short walk. I have done it when I wanted a few rooms.

I would book the first one to start a day earlier and then book the second on the actual day. I’d then shift the next day.

I believe MS can hold a room if it is an existing reservation, as when I had an issue they held a BWV room while it was being worked out. However I don't think they will hold multiple rooms that were not booked yet as that would be abused - consider a owner who wants 3 studios so they can rent them for marathon weekend.

When someone is having an issue with points or their account, they can find a way to hold it.

But, when normal booking and no issues, they won’t.

Apologies, as I have a related question and didn't want to start a new post. I successfully booked two rooms for December. I am listed as the lead on both. My two family members are listed with me in one, and my sister and her family is listed with me in the other.

Can I stay listed as the lead on both rooms, or is that not allowed? There is enough "space" in both room, but I wasn't sure if it would mess things up. My sister has never been to Disney before, is not a planner at all, and I have the Membership Magic Beyond Option, which might be useful in certain places.

Thanks!

It doesn’t matter until you actually arrive. You can’t be a guest on both once check in…your MB will have issues.

But, they can uncheck you as a guest at the front desk. I do this all the time.

sorry for to tagging on...

I have 2 reservations 1 for 1 week at SSR 1BR (through Interval) and midweek check in at Beach Club that i booked with my DVC points... i booked the BCV to utilize the check in day water park perk and have a home base for Epcot Food and Wine. Would this cause problem? from what you wrote above... it looks like it.

Yes, it will. The bigger problem is that you want to be able to access the free water park and to get that you have to scan your MB.

Some will put an alternative name on a reservation and not attach it to MDE but in this case, I am not sure it will work.

Now, if some of your guests are not using the water park, then you don’t need them on BCV, and they can check out only those who do for the night.

I’m not sure the best way to go about it in this case.

Exactly the problem... it will be the same 4 four guests on both reservation. If i remove them from one or the other reservation, the whole benefit of getting that 2nd reservation in Beach Club is gone...

I guess i could make it simple on my self and just stay on the SSR reservation cancel Beach Club 😭

If it were me, I’d probably cancel because if you wait until you get there, and they can’t make it work, then you end up with holding points or worse, lose the points.

It’s one of the benefits this year of our split stays. We can get it mid trip…and that was a nice thing to have as an option on change day!!!

here i thought i was being smart! booking these separate reservations to use the water park perk 😭

Thanks! This is very helpful. It's my first time booking two rooms or traveling with a larger group, and the people I'm traveling with want me to handle everything, so I have a lot to learn!
