Le Cellier

We are heading for the World in June. We have a ADR at Le Cellier. Is it worth the money or is there some where better for a good steak? This will be our first time at Le Cellier.

We love the steaks at Le Cellier. It's true that they're pricey, but my husband said the Mushroom Filet was one of the best steaks he'd ever had. We have reservations there for Monday and are really excited!

As in the parks go, its the best steak.

I have heard the Yachtman has better steak but that's at a resort. I am not big on resort hopping as it takes up so much extra time.... if your staying at the YC then maybe try and squeeze in to the Yachtman if you like steak

We enjoyed Les Ceillers though and it was good steak.

we went there a week ago and had the prime rib as did the other five in our party and that was delicious.......one had a steak and it was so tender you could cut it with a fork........delicious

That is the one place DH says we have to go each trip. He loved there steak. I dont argue because I get to plan the rest. I am going to try their steak this time to see if it is really as good as he says.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. I love their mushroom filet! I wouldn't cancel your ADR. Everyone has different opinions though so try it and see what you think, esp. since you were able to get a reservation here. That in and of itself is hard to do!

If you're okay with Outback Steakhouse or Logan's kind of steak, it'll be fine. It's not prime beef or that type of quality.

I think it's severely overrated and overpriced and would rather spend a few more bucks and eat at Yachtsman, personally. (to compare, filet at LeCellier is $35 and the filet at Yachtsman is $38)

My family and I love Le Cellier and the Mushroom Filet is not just about the steak but about the mushroom risotto as well. The bread is fabulous and I would recommend the Cheddar Cheese soup or PEI mussels as an appetizer and the Maple Creme Brule for dessert.

It is hard to compare the steak to other restaurants as you are talking prime Alberta beef vs US beef. As a proud Canadian, I am biased so will not comment.

On top of everything you get Canadian servers and we all know how friendly Canadians are. Ooops, sorry my bias is showing and I promised it wouldn't.

ITA. The mushroom risotto was to die for, as well as the pretzel bread. I loved the steak...not necessarily the best I've had, but the best in the parks for sure. I did go at lunch, which is a bit less expensive. I loved my servers. Both were from Vancouver Island (Nanaimo and Uclulet), which just happen to be the only place in Canada I've ever been. It was great! I have a first cousin who lives on Bowen Island, but unfortunately, I couldn't remember the name of it when I was talking to them. It's an incredibly beautiful place...oh, were we talking about steak

Agreed. Especially since Yachtsman isn't much of a hike if you're already in the World Showcase. The YC is within walking distance of the International Gateway between France & the UK, or there's a boat you can take to the dock of the Yacht Club. Really, all the restaurants in the Epcot resort area are a breeze to get to if you're already in the Epcot WS. Nothing should take more than 10-15 minutes unless you just miss a boat, but at that point I'd recommend just walking. We stayed at the Dolphin in August and did the walk twice, and even in the blazing heat, it wasn't bad at all. Took maybe 15 minutes, and the Dolphin a father walk than you'd have to do to get to the YC.

Not that Le Cellier is a bad choice. We ate there last summer and enjoyed the meal, but that was before the price of the filet went up around $6-7. That may not be a big deal if you're on the DDP, but if you're paying OOP I don't think it's worth it. I agree with Aimeedyan that the steak quality is about on par with Outback, which would be fine if the filet price were $10 less. But when it's $35, I'd much rather pay a few more dollars and go eat at the Yachtsman. I think it's a better value per dollar spent since you get better cuts of beef. Plus the Yachtsman has better service, and unlike at Le Cellier, you won't be sitting shoulder to shoulder with the next table. Of course, that "is it worth it?" metric changes if you're on the dining plan as the Yachtsman is two credits, but if you're paying OOP, I think it's the better choice.

We loved it and will be going again in October. DH is very picy about his steaks and loved it. DS (8) loved his dinner steak. DH asked the waiter if DS could meet the Chef adn tip him. The chef came out but said he was not alloed to accept tips, so DS thanked him for a great meal

We did Le Cellier AND Yachtsman's Steakhouse. Didn't love YS but adored Le Cellier.

The Mushroom Filet and, even better, the Wild Mushroom Risotto, was AMAZING! The atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely as well. I definitely wouldn't turn my nose up at the cheddar cheese soup and pretzel bread either. All quite yum!

Le Cellier got rid of arguably their best item on the menu (Maple Glaze Filet). Now they only have the Mushroom Filet and they jacked up the price from 26 to 34 dollars. If you're going to spend 34 dollars for a steak you might as well spend an extra 4 dollars and go to the California Grill. It's a great restaurant with great service and a great atmosphere, not mention an excellent steak.

When the steak was $6-7 less it was a good steak for the money considering the trapped audience - one of the best values at Disney. I wouldn't pay $35 for that steak - its a decent $28 steak - its a lousy $35 steak.

Although we've been to several WDW restaurants and had steaks comparable to Le Cellier, we thought the steaks here were excellent. Not only the steaks, but the entire meal. Even for the kids. We have tried to go back twice and couldn't get ADRs so my opinion is that if you've already got the ADR and have never been there to give it a try. Even waiting for our ADR near the falls and gardens was nice. Definately recommend Le Cellier at least once.

If you want a better steak, try Shula's. It is in the Swan/Dolphin, which is a moderate walk or boat ride from Epcot. It is the kind of restaurant that is great by any standards, and is often considered the best steakhouse in all of Orlando. Also very expensive.
