Le Cellier

After reading all of these trip reports everyone is bragging about Le Cellier so I run to the phone and Surprise the restaurant is booked for Nov 27th. Is this a hot place? What are my chances if I call everyday? Does anyone out there have any tips for me?

I called back in August and they were had reservations 189 days out. I couldn't get one night of our 11 night trip coming up later this month. Yeah it's pretty popular

yes they are a busy place......when we were there a few weeks ago ......someone walked up to le cellier in front of us and got two cancellations.....of course there was no more for us.......keep trying by calling and walking up to the podium around five pm.......that would of been the bewitching hour if we had been two minutes faster then these people......

Le Cellier is an extremely popular restaurant, and it is VERY difficult to get dinner, and sometimes even lunch, reservations. I made our ADR's about 60 days before our trip in July, and everything was booked. Of course I wanted to try it, so I booked lunch. Good luck!

DH and I are at WDW as we speak. Well, we ate lunch at Le Cellier yesterday for the first time and it was amazing. It WAS crowded and not a seat to be had. Try to get in there cuz its worth it!

189 days? I thought you had to wait until 180.

We are going around the same time and really wanted to eat there as well...but, when I called a couple months ago they were already booked solid....the good news for us is that I was then able to call the day the candlelight processional packages were released and got an ADR for Nov 27 for dinner. So, if you didn't ask about the CP package, you could try that (although I would assume that they are booked too). The CP package probably takes up a lot of their room and may make it harder to get something for that day now.

Don't worry if you miss it. Its a decent steak place - but NOT worth the hassle or fretting over not being able to get a reservation. There are other steak houses at Disney - and probably one or two in your hometown. There are many restaurants at Disney with good food, and some restaurants where the experience is far more "Disney" than Le Cellier. I'll be happy when this one dies down - however, it will simply be replaced by the new "must" restaurant.

We had lunch there last Saturday , it was great, we enjoyed it very much , keep calling , hope they might be able to get you in , I will have a full review of all restraunts from our trip in the next week or so

Keep trying or try for a walk-up. We love LeCellier...I had a great, tender filet...best meal we had at Disney!

My husband said the same thing he was like "please we are from NY don't you think we can get a better steak here don't sweat it". I just thought it would be nice since so many people seem to rave about it but if we don't get it no big deal I have 3 little kids DS 6 DD 3 DS 2 so most meals are not enjoyable anyway no matter how good the food is. HA HA

Agree 100%! We have enjoyed our meals both times we've been there, but gee whiz, it's a steak house! The first time we went, we were curious about what all the fuss was about, and the 2nd time we took our in-laws for the same reason. While we had no complaints whatsoever, I wouldn't say it deserves the almost cult-like following it has earned. It wasn't that long ago that this restaurant had the reputation for being one of, if not the worst, on property. Now, it's harder to get into then Cindy's!

If you are from New York and at all a foodie, the food at WDW isn't that good. Don't get me wrong - I love planning where we are going to go at WDW and I love having a sit down meal every day and I've found most of the food to be good - but there have only been a few times where I've had a meal that leaves me truly impressed (and I'm in Minneapolis - not a huge foodie town).

We love to do sit down dining at Disney - but for us the quality of the food is one of the lower things on the list - although it does have to meet a minimum standard (not everything does - no Chef Mickey's buffet for us). The first thing we get out of sit down dining is the sit down - an hour or so off our feet - and we've discovered even when our kids were little that they were more than ready for an hour of relative quiet. The second reason we do sit down dining is because someone brings me a glass of wine or a martini. I'm not a huge drinker, but after six hours of park touring with kids, a glass of wine does mellow (note this WON'T happen in MK restaurants). The third reason is that we really enjoy the experience of many of the restaurants. And we have to eat.

If you have nothing better to do each day than to call looking for a cancellation (and with three little kids, that seems like a laughable idea), go ahead and keep calling. If you don't - don't worry about it. Get a babysitter at home and make your husband take you out to one of those spots in New York.

Just adding my own story: we're not going until Feb., I called a few weeks ago, not knowing anything about the 180 days, and the only time left for the day I chose was at 8:40 pm. I booked it.

We had dinner there Dec 06. Great meal and service. I would not give it a second thought. Have a great time and try something else.

It's a perfectly fine, good steakhouse. Chances are that you've got an equally nice steakhouse close to where you live.

There are so many interesting restaurants in Epcot. It would be nice if you can get in to LC, but it's not as though it is a life-changing experience.

thanks for everyones advice you guys are all so nice on these boards. I will keep trying but its no big deal if i don't get it I just figured that I would be in epcot that day so why not eat there if anything I will eat some where else

I agree with everyone to keep trying! It is worth it, the food is so yummy there. I would recommend the cheddar cheese soup with pretzel bread, soooo good.
