Every time I go to EPCOT, I walk up to Le Celleir to see if I can eat there. I never had any luck. For my next trip, I broke down and actually made ADRs. I was only able to get 4:30 for Le Celleir. Anyone ever have any luck?

I have never done a "walk up" at Le Cellier and I'm glad I didn't because even with ADRs we had to wait about 40 or 45 minutes (that was in 2004). It seemed to be extremely busy so I made ADRs this year for the week of 8/18 through 8/24 at approximately 6:00.

They have good food so it is well worth the wait.

I've actually gotten in a few times w/o an ADR, although we usually make them but we never really know when were going to be hungry so ADR make me go insane.. one time we were seated right away and the people standing behind us were also walk ups and the cm told them they were sorry but they werent accepting walk ups .. i felt bad esp when we were seated and there were so many empty seats i guess bc of reservations that hadnt showed or w/e i guess you jsut have to be there at the right time :cool1:

We went for lunch the day we checked in May 2004; had an ADR for 1:30 & waited less than 5 minutes.

I always make my ADR's for Le Cellier because it is my favorite place to eat.

=) But, with the several times I've been there, EVERY TIME I see people getting turned away because they don't have an ADR. I've never seen anybody "walk in" and get a table. I'm sure it happens sometimes, but it's worth it to me to make my ADR's so I know for sure I'm eatting there.

:sunny:

We saw many people turned away when we were in the world showcase. It made the point very clear to Dh that all my obsesive planning was worth it, especially when he enjoyed his meal there later in the night!

I didn't book my trip until a couple of weeks ago so all of the good times are gone. For the first time I am realizing that it doesn't pay to book late. I am a little upset though b/c why are we penalized for booking late?

Keep trying you never know when someone may have to cancel their ADR, and you may get lucky.

I don't think though you are being penalized as such, it's just those who committed to their trip earlier booked their ADR's which is only fair too ....

I guess.
I have been stalking WDW reservations. All of my ADRs are for either 4:00 or 8:00. Not good.

If you don't mind having your big meal at lunch, it is possible to get into Le Cellier as a walk up.

We were there last year during free dining, and couldn't get an ADR for any night at Le Cellier... but on our Epcot day we just headed over there when they opened for lunch, and they took us right away as a walk up.

I just wanted to add, that I ONLY eat at Le Cellier for lunch, and every time I see people getting turned away. I think it depends on what time of year you go!!

We had lunch at LeCellier last Sept. (on the 22nd) Had ADR for 11:30. It was a rainy day. We only waited about 5-10 minutes. Walk-ins were being told 20 min. Remember, this was during the last free dining. We had lunch there since we were having a late dinner at Ca. Grill for my mom's birthday.

This year we are having dinner there on Sept. 13th @ 7:50.

Happy Dining! :cool1:

LeCellier has always been fairly popular - but was kind of a hidden gem until a few years ago when it's popularity seemed to explode. With last year's free dining offer - more and more people have now discovered how wonderful it is.

We always go once during our trip. I always make an ADR (even for lunch). I have seen walk-ups get in at lunchtime, but I have never seen anyone get in for dinner without an ADR.

Guess we are odd because we try for the odd times with our ADRs. We eat late lunches or early dinner, depending on how you look at it. Usually we are dining in comfort in the heat and busy parts of the day, the kids got rested then we were hitting the parks when people are looking to eat. Always works for us, and almost always get an ADR close to when I was looking for. My tip, have a first and second choice handy when making them; the ressie folks always appreciate that!

We were there in December and had the earliest lunch ADR. They were not talking any walkups at that time.

Hey....at Le Cellier 4:00 would be great if you plan to watch Illuminations. We had an ADR for 5:45 last year and barely made it out in time to see Illuminations. I made one this year for 4:00. :thumbsup2

I did LeCellier in 2003 for lunch as a walk up, during Easter week, no less. Not a chance of that this year for Christmas week, though...needed to make all ADRs 90 days out for that week! But it generally is easier to get lunch ADRs for good times on shorter notice than dinner ADRs.

If there is a certain restaurant you must eat at always make an ADR as soon as you think you might need to. We don't have a hotel resv. yet for our July trip but I already have ADRs for some meals! And yes, one of them was Le Cellier.

Some restaurants are always hard to get into. I have seen many turned away from restaurants in Jan, Feb, Jun, July.

I think it is totally fair for folks who plan ahead to be able to make their ADRs. First come, first served. If they made us wait until 2 weeks before our trip, the phones would be jammed constantly!

We've eaten there twice (once in Jan. for dinner, once in May for lunch) and have walked up with no wait both times. I had no idea it was so hard to get into until I couldn't get my ADR for the upcoming trip. :confused3

I never realized how popular this place was. I called three times last week to try and get reservations for certain dates the week of August 13th - 19th. Finally, this week , I called and asked what was available for dinner and I gave her the dates for the entire week.
She checked and came back with one opening on Aug 13th @ 7:20! Wow, finally! Persistance paid off... :cheer2:

I figured I can re-arrange most other ADR's without as much difficulty, rather than try and pick a particular day for this one. So with a choice of 6 days, they finally found a spot!:woohoo:
