As the thread title suggestions, this is the battle of the steakhouses!

Which one to choose? Any thoughts, experiences, favorites?

Never been to either. All opinions and info appreciated!

Yachtsman, hands down. The steaks have been consistently better quality and cooked better.

Le Cellier's tables are very close together, and the atmosphere felt like eating in a dungeon to us. It was so dark we needed our iPhone flashlights to read the menu easily.

If you've kids, they'll probably enjoy Le Cellier more. It's a much more casual atmosphere.

Yachtsman offers more entree choices if variety is preferred. Prices are similar to Le C's.

I'd pretty much agree with the PP that LC is in last place.

If these are you only two choices then YSH would win. However, if you are looking for better picks you should also consider Jiko and Shula's.

I would say Le Cellier hands down. Yachtsman in my experience is very overrated and the steak quality was nowhere near where it should be for an establishment touting itself in this manner. We've given it a few tries and it has been a consistent letdown. In fact, Grand Floridian Cafe has a superior steak to Yachtsman IMO.

As long as no one wants anything but a strip steak...

A good example of how widely opinions differ as we've never had a disappointing meal at Yachtsman, having eaten there several times.

GF Cafe is very good, I agree, if steaks of all types aren't the goal.

That's what makes the world go round (choice is always a good thing) ;)

Are you looking for a special night out (Yachtsman’s) or a stop during a theme park visit (Le C?)

Le Cellier has taken a nosedive in my opinion. We ate there in May and it was awful. Three of the four filet's were nasty, undercooked and not quality meat. We're done with Chef's de France (same issue) and O'Hana (same issue). I actually got sick at O'Hana's.

Toppolino's and Steakhouse71 are our go to steak houses these days.

You were there almost exactly 6 months before we were, so I think your review unlikely to represent current conditions, given that Yachtsman's service may well have suffered substantially due to the pandemic and subsequent shortages.

We hadn't as good an experience last November as my post on your review thread indicated but chalked that up to the devastation resulting from the long closure as well as many CMs reportedly taking retirement or finding other jobs.

Please consider giving an old favorite another chance to do better now that things seem to be getting closer to pre-covid conditions.
?? We were there in May. 2.5 months ago.

ok so would you do steakhouse 71 or le cellier

I would pick Steakhouse 71. We have not enjoyed Yachtsman twice, and can’t comment on Le Cellier, it just has been too long since we went and we were not happy. Earlier this year we each enjoyed a filet at Steakhouse 71.

I have done both multiple times. I would say if you are booking for a non park day go with Yachtsman. If you are in Epcot anyways then Le Cellier would be my pick. Either way be prepared to be there a while. They take their time getting you the food. Definitely recommend an early dinner at Epcot so you have time to enjoy the evening activities.

With the exception that we weren't tremendously impressed with the quality of the steaks at 71, we'd choose it over LeC, too. 71 is terribly noisy when full, why we may return only for early breakfast which we both enjoyed.

Like bobbiwoz, it's been several years since we ate at LeC, and we weren't impressed. That it became a Sig put the nails in its coffin for us. Two DDP credits for no better than it was did not encourage us to return when we could spend those credits enjoyably at Yachtsman.

Try Steakhouse 71. You may really enjoy it. The historical photo gallery on the wall is well worth seeing. History buff that I am, I loved those. The food? Just okay.
