So I made ADR for a thursday night July the 8th for me and my DS. I just recently(in pencel) canceld for Le cellar and decided on doing a walk up at Planet Hollwood. I just wanted to get a felling from Dis vets who frequnt both of these places.

We are pretty casual eaters at home, and we are pretty much a goto Famliy style restraunts and for the most part I would call us Buger eaters. Now we eat steak but normaly at home, we are what you call a well done Famliy,if we see red we stop eatting. Steak places just do not seem to know how to cook It to the way we like It.
So I look at this and decided to stay with a more fimillar place and menue and goto PH. I herd such good things from Dis about La celler so I thought we try It,but the more i look at It the more I see us comeing away kind of dispointed. Good choice?? bad choice??.:confused3

difficult to compare as they are nothing alike. i'd certainly choose le cellar. ph is ok, but just ok as far as the food goes and it's nothing special in my opinion as the experience goes.

I guess Its not so much trying to compare the food prep, but more to our food selections, the steak menue compare to the Buger menue.

Le Cellier was amazing, and we almost cancelled it to go to Sci Fi during Star Wars wekend. Thank goodness the Sci Fi was booked as Le Cellier turned out to be fanstastic!!

No comparison, PH is nowhere in the league of Le Cellar. Le Cellar is way better.

And what do you mean if you see any red you stop eating? If you eat well-done steak I wouldn’t pay high prices for that. If you have a problem with “steak houses” not cooking properly, then explain to your server what you are looking for and don’t assume medium for you is medium for another. Not trying to start a thread battle but being in the business, many people have their own ideas of what temps on meat is. Just explain how you want it to look and Le cellar should take care of you!
Any way you cut it, you are in WDW so everything tasted better.

I admit, when I first saw your thread title, I was thinking, "WHAT? There's no comparison - Le Cellier is so much better!" BUT reading more about your family's tastes, I do think that Planet Hollywood would be a more satisfying experience for you. They do have a tasty selections of burgers and sandwiches - I had a chicken avocado sandwich there on our vacation last year that was delicious.

IMO, steakhouses usually don't do burgers right - even knowing the safety regs on ground meat, they still seem to leave them with just a little pink.

I am a big steak lover and ADORE Le Cellier. But I also love mine medium, and actually thought my Le Cel steak came back a little too done for the way I'd like it (was still tender since it was good quality meat, and the taste was fab, so I wasn't complaining).

I think you are making the right choice for your family's tastes.

The one time we went to PH it was horrible. It is the one restaurant in all of WDW that we will NEVER return to. The food was bad and the service even worse. I'd definately go to LeCellier. ::MinnieMo

I would stick with Planet Hollywood.....IMHO anyone that prefers their steak well done would probably not get their money's worth at a steakhouse. High quality steaks shouldn't be cooked more than medium.

I completely agree. Le Cellier is one of our favorite restaurants and we'll be having dinner there twice on our next trip.

We have eaten at the Planet Hollywood in DTD and they do have an extensive menu of burgers, salads, sandwiches and even steaks. There's a lot of movie and TV memorabilia that you can wander around and look at.

I think you and your family will like it.

In no way I am I trying to compare the two's In qualty, I am quite sure that La celler hands down has way better steak and food on top of that. Personaly we really like PH, we make It a point to eatting there at least once a trip but thats us. As I was saying, thats why I was posting this question because of our taste In food If It was kind of a waste to go there If thats not our typ of dinning?. We have always eaten steak well done,no pink but some times waiters will get the Idea that what you mean Is med well. No big fault, because the majority of the time thats what the customer wants when ask for well, a little pink in the middle, but we just do not eat It that way.

There are plenty of people who would gladly take your place at Le Cellier! I say cancel it and eat at Planet Hollywood if you just want a burger.

The Le Cellier Burger is Ohmazing. Has panchetta, onion straws, and maple sauce and is by far the best burger I have ever had on property. So if you are a burger fanatic, by all means don't cancel.

I actually try, but there Is no avalable ADR at PH for that thursday night, the only thing we could do Is walk up?,wich we might end up doing, its still in the thinking stage. But I will not wait to long because there Is alot of people that try to get In there(La Cellier).

I don't really eat red meat, but love Le Cellier. I could eat 2 plates of that mushroom risotto. Usually dh eats my steak, which I order so I can get the risotto, but there are non steak options.

Planet Hollywood is a chain restaurant that exists in most major metro areas. Le Cellier is a unique restaurant that only exists in Epcot. Why would you cancel Le Cellier for Planet Hollywood?

I agree. I'm not a fan of Planet Hollywood food. I'm not a fancy food type eater by any means, but the food is just EH. I'd stick with Le Cellier and try it out. You've never been there and have an ADR. On the flip side, you have eaten at PH and don't have a chance for an ADR-who knows how long you might have to wait.

Plus if you don't like the way something is cooked at a steakhouse this is an easy way to fix it. Cut into whatever you're eating-burger or steak-if there is any red, jut have them cook it longer. Just do so before eating.

I would definitely keep Le Cellier. I always get my steak well done there and it has been perfect everytime... I don't eat "pink" either lol. My DH is a meat and potatoes kind of guy and this is his favorite. Give it a try!
