Le Cellier, split dining party ?

Hello!
For our upcoming trip I booked Le Cellier for dinner, but had to split my party of 7 into 2 groups (4 & 3) 5 minutes apart.
I wanted to see if they could perhaps seat us together, or at least near each other, but totally understand this is a smaller restaurant and they might not be able to.
If anyone has been in a similar situation, when do you usually inquire about it? Wait until check in, or stop by during the day of the reservation to give them a “heads up” ?

We usually just made sure everyone was assembled at the restaurant 10-15 minutes before the earlier time, then we checked in with the CM in person, not via the MDE app. We tell the CM we’re together and would like to be seated as close together as possible. Then we’re prepared to wait a little, but we haven’t had any long delays, and we’ve had good results.

This is a common practice, especially at restaurants that don’t even offer larger reservations, like Le Cellier. I’ve always had success here combining reservations, but as others have said, just arrive/check in a bit earlier and/or let them know earlier in the day and you should be ok. I’ve had less success at other restaurants that do offer larger reservations (‘Ohana), but I’m sure you could combine anything depending on your wait tolerance.

Le Cellier has several tables along the walls that are only inches away from each other. I’ve definitely seen them push those together over the years. You might have to wait a little for them to get 2 tables next to each other, but it should hopefully work out for you.
