Well, we just got back and I can't help but tell anyone who will listen that we were very unhappy with our Le Cellier dinner. We had planned it for our last nice dinner out and it didn't work out at all. We had made a PS for a family of 8 for a 6pm dinner. At no time did anyone mention to us that they would be unable to accommodate a table of 8 at the same table!! We were seated at 2 separate tables for 4, separated by about a 3 ft. space making it impossible to have a conversation with the rest of our party unless we were willing to scream across the restaurant, which I don't think would have been appreciated. When I complained to the hostess about no one mentioning to us that they could not accommodate a party of 8, I received a very 'brisk' answer that the reason we were not told was because they DID accommodate our party, by providing us with the same server!!!. If the kids did not have their hearts set on getting a good viewing spot for Illuminations, we would have just left at that point, but we were also very hungry and had heard so much about their filet mignon that we decided to stay!. Unfortunately, things got worse, the food presentation was horrendous (who has ever heard of filet mignon being served in what looked like a dog bowl)..........also we asked for a cocktail and was told that they had no vodka to make a Black Russian but that they did have wine and after dinner liquers (the server even stated that they had Grand Marnier). .... I guess you know what happened next, at the end of dinner we ordered 4 Grand Marniers and sure enough, the server returned to say that she was sorry but they had none!!!. All in all, the server was very sweet and nice, it was not her fault just the fault of the management we believe. We didn't let it ruin our time, because we just felt STUCK. The price was reasonable, the food was acceptable, but we will never go back.

So sorry you had a bad experience! We eat at LeCellier whenever we are at WDW, and have nver encountered a problem. As a matter of fact, we were there in Aug. with a party of 7 and all sat at the same table. I guess no restaurant is perfect!

Sorry your expierance was bad.....We were there last Oct with a party of 7 and were all sat at the same table....

No Vodka or Grand Mariner.....I'd tell the manager to send someone down to the Rose and Crown and borrow it...

We always give Le Cellier good marks on everything and I feel bad when someone has such a bad experience.I think oh no they read my post and now they think boy is he a nut.DW and I go each year at first part of December and Le Cellier is must do for us.Since it is just us two we have not encountered the problems your party did with seating.I'm diabetic so do not have cocktails so never had that problem with drinks before.I do hope you will let the management know in writing the problems you had on your visit so they make steps to improve on these issues in future. Danny

No vodka??? Are they supposed to have a full bar? Not to sound like a lush or anything but we were planning on having our Christmas Eve dinner there and Im sure I will be wanting a white russian with my meal.
At least Ill be prepared if they dont have it. Thanks for the warning , but sorry it came at your expense.

I am amazed that they were not able to accomodate you. We ate there for the first time with the Candlelight Processional Dinner Pkg. It was very busy, but they seated our party of 9 at one table. We did not have any trouble, & the kids enjoyed the pretzel sticks (well, so did mommy w/ the cheese soup!!). Hope the rest of your vacation was magical! ;)

Ouch! That sounds like a horrendous evening--I don't blame you at all for being totally disappointed in the place. I'm glad that you did not let the experience ruin your trip. So now on your next trip you can try some new restaurants and I hope that they will be better for you. We just had lunch there and while it was good, we weren't totally thrilled with the place. We'll be trying something different this trip.

Sorry you had such a bad experience. We loved our visit to Le Cellier where our party of 8 was seated at the same table. I don't drink but I would have said something to the manager about their lack of alcohol.

Sorry to hear you had such an unpleasant experience. When we dined there 2 weeks ago, we watched as they set up for a large party in front of the fireplace. Maybe it depends on who is on duty for the night.
We thought the restaurant was wonderful. We loved the atmosphere and the presentation was great. The desserts were some of the best of the week in the World. Creme brulee and chocolate moose! Drop an email to let them know. I don't have it but am certain someone else on boards would have the appropriate email address. Anyone?

Thanks everyone for your nice and thoughtful replies. Hard as we try to put it behind us, our experience Thursday night is still annoying us terribly. I think we feel extra bad about it because our SIL who accompanied us picked up the check and we know she could see how disappointed we were. I really do like the idea of sending them an EMAIL, any veterans out there know what their address is? THanks again everyone for your replies.

I am not sure of an exact email address, you can try through online guest services. Perhaps someone else has it. You might also try to get a phone # or email through Disney Dining.

This is exactly how I would sum up my experience! It wasn't horrible, but we really weren't impressed. It was fine to do it once, but with all of the other great Disney restaurants out there, we won't be going back to one we considered mediocre again. The only thing that really made it redeem itself was those adorable desserts. I even took pictures, LOL.

As I recall in 2001 we were a party of 8 and for almost all the Ps's I made they always stated it wasn't guaranteed that we were going to be seated together. If they didn't mention it I assumed that was the case and wasn't expecting it. We got lucky and for all14 PS's we were seated together (LE Cellier included).

Sorry to hear your story. We always eat at Le Cellier and love it--but all restaurants have their off days--unfortunately you experienced one.

We have eaten at lecellier twice 1st time at the cp package and the 2 of us we seated next to a party of 10! so they have large tables! and we had a nice experience, but the resturant was packed. The 2nd time last august we got the great table right as you walk in it normally seats 4 but they gave it to my sister and myself (yipee) the hostess stops there with everyone entering right next to us and describes how the resturant is set up into the canadaian providances...... I think I know the speech by heart we heard it so many times, I really could not believe they would continue to bring people over to our table and park there for the speech before moving on to their tables? Or at least stand back farther into the hall over looking the seating area. This really annoyed us. To the point of just eat and get out of here! Food was ok, but it had started to rain appartently so everyone coming in in pouncho's were wet and dripping on us. I don't think the guest knew, they would be standing over us for so long, but the host / hostess does.

I agree, we will not be re-trying this resturant this year.:(
