Making a reservation for my sister's anniversary dinner - definitely need a steak place. Have had Le Cellier and enjoyed, but wondering if we should try Yachtsman this time around. :confused3

Open to thoughts/ideas. Preferences??

Thanks!!!
:tink:

for an anniversary - definately Yachtsman - I find LeCellier to be crowded, you have to wait at least 30 min for your adr time - and for two you usually end up at a table that is so close to the other diners that its ridiculous!

Yachtsman is a great place - great steaks - I know its a 2TS place but I really feel for an anniversary its not as crowded and its still dark and had a great ambiance!

DH says Le Cellier was better for him but I love the Yachtsman...either place is great and you cannot get a bad meal!

We tried both the past 2 trips but it is true that you wait awhile to be seated at Le Cellier even if you get there early. Both are excellent places but I think Yachtsman steak was better tasting and would better fit the occasion with its quieter and less crowded ambiance but it is a tad more pricey. Either way, you really cant go wrong with either.

Love Le Cellier but for anniversary dinner, I would choose Yachtsmans.... we went there for our anniversary trip and they gave us personalized menus that said "Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. _______" on the top! It was a nice touch only Disney would do! However, you have left out the one place I would pick above all others and that is Jiko- the filet I've had there is TO DIE FOR. And its so romantic to go out to the savannah after dinner and watch the sunset and the animals.

I'll probably be in the minority but my steak at Le Cellier was much better than the one I had at the Yatchsman.:confused3 Yatchsman has a seafood salad appetizer that I love, but I just wasn't impressed with their steak.

Yachtsman, hands down, no contest. There's not really even any competition between these two in my mind, especially for a special occasion dinner. Yachtsman is one of our favorite restaurants on property, and Le Cellier is... not. The food, service, and atmosphere at Yachtsman is all outstanding, while the food at Le Cellier can be spotty, and the atmosphere makes you feel like a sardine.

You can read my most recent review of Yachtsman in the first link in my sig. On another trip we took my stepmother and my sister there. My stepmother is not a big beef eater, but her steak (extra, extra well done) was cooked perfectly, and it was her favorite meal of the trip. The waiter didn't even bat an eye when she ordered such a lovely cut of meat burned to a crisp.

On *another* trip we took some friends, and one said God must've been having a cook out, and his steak fell off God's grill. :rotfl:

Anyway, so, yeah... Yachtsman. :thumbsup2
