Which one would you pick, Le Cellier or Chefs de France? I have eaten at Le Cellier, but the rest of my family has not. None of us have eaten at Chefs de France. I frankly wasn't super impressed with Le Cellier; I had the surf and turf (back when that was allowed on the free dining plan!) and the lobster was terrible! I loved the pretzel bread, the soup, and the chocolate "moose" dessert, though. I showed Dh the menus and he noted that Chefs de France seemed more expensive, so maybe that is the better one to do during free dining? Each place has at least one thing on the menu that appeals to us.

Maybe we could do Chefs de France for lunch, and then go to Le Cellier for appetizers and dessert? Can you do that (just apps and dessert) at Disney restaurants?

Thanks everyone!

My DW and I like them both for the food. I find the lunch menu at Chefs a bit limited since we have dined there so many times and it has not changed, but the food is always very good and you can't beat the ambiance compared to Le Cellier (after all, it is a "cellar"). ;)

DH and I like both. Will you be there with children? I have found that most children are not big fans of LeCellier. It is kind of dark and there is not as much for kids to watch in LeCellier. In Chef's they can look outside and be occupied a bit more. I actually preferred the food a bit more at LeCellier, but I was happy with the food at Chef's. Is it steak you want? LeCellier has great steaks. If you prefer Seafood I would opt for Chefs. I think either restaurant can be very good, but it depends on your preferences!

We ate at Le Cellier last week with our 3 kids, 8, 6, 4 and we al loved it. One of the best meals we ate all week. And we ate well. I'm afraid to step on the scale now! The steak melted in you mouth! Cheese soup and pretzel bread were awesome! We are Canadian though and a little bias!

I had dinner at both restaurants last week.
Both are quality resaurants, but I defintely feel that LeCellier is the better of the two restaurants by far.

I had Cheddar Cheese soup, Maple Glazed Filet and Cream cheese mashed potatos, and Creme Brulee. And every bit of it was awesome.

Chefs De France was very good too, but no steak on the menu. I had the Lamb Shanks and navy beans, and it was OK, nothing to rave about. The best part of Chefs was the Flat bread apetizers and the creme brulee for dessert. All our entrees were just Ok at Chefs de France. Nothing outstanding.

I am a steak and potatos person and would choose LeCellier over Chefs in a second. But Chefs De France was not bad at all. You just have to like that kind of food.

Hope that helps.

1) I would pick Chefs.
2) Le Cellier is overrated.

I agree. We thought LeCellier was fine, but nothing special really. I thought it was kind of dark and dreary.

We've eaten at Chefs three times and enjoyed it every time, most recently last Thursday night!

I would go with Les Chefs de France. We had horrible service and so-so food at Le Cellier...

I rather pick Chefs too. I ate at Le Cellier last week, the steak is way too salty.

We like both, but I would pick Le Chefs over Le Cellier, I think their food, service and atmosphere is better!

We ate at Le Cellier last week - lunch, no dinner ressies available. Yum!! All 3 of us had filets at 11:30am (well, more like noon) all done exactly the way we wanted them - from just off the hoof to medium rare to medium well. All tender, all eaten to the last bite.

Lots of kids, no really obnoxious ones except for one unhappy baby. All the kids around us were too busy eating.

I would heartily recommend Le Cellier!

I would pick Le Cellier over Chefs de France in a heart beat. We did not have a very good experience at Chefs :sad2: and had a WONDERFUL experience at Le Cellier  . See my dining review in my signature for more details.

I would choose Chefs over Le Cellier. We've never been disappointed with our Chefs selections (and have eaten there every time we've visited over the last five years, most recently last week). Le Cellier was only so-so. I think we were really expecting more based on the reviews, but the food was somewhat bland. I think they're both neat as far as atmosphere, though. It just depends on whether you're in the mood for dark and cozy or light and bright!

Obviously, just a matter of opinion. For my 2 cents it would be Le Cellier. We can't wait to get back there on our next trip. Enjoy!

Interesting thread. Proves the truth in the old axiom "You pays your money and you makes your cherce." (or is it: "you takes your chance":cool1: )

I have ADRs at both Le Cellier and Les Chefs but was going to give up my rezzie at Chefs. Now I'm not. I'll drop another ADR (Whispering Canyon Cafe) for Nine Dragons.

:surfweb: We would pick Le Cellier:cool1: It is a favorite of ours (even thought we have only made two trips to the world) We had a moment of Disney Magic on our first trip their in 05. We had a 6am flight out of Syracuse NY which put us at the Airport at 5am, which woke my kids 12 and 5) up at 430am, I didnt sleep, I was too excited to finally be bringing my kids to disney:goodvibes
Well, we get to the Carribean Beach Resort at about 12:00pm and have a nice lunch and decide to start our vacation by going to Epcot for the afternoon and evening. We arrived, skipped the big rides, soaring and Ft, lines too long, and tour future world. Had a nice time doing so:banana:
Then on our way to the world showcase the skys open up and it poors. We find shelter at the restrooms just before canada and start to wait our the storm under the roof over hang. Found out the Bathrooms there are big and airconditioned so we split up, wife and dtr in ladies son and I in men's room. We all actually met some nice folks and chatted while we waited out the storm.
After the rain stopped and we skirted the lake on the side walk between the bathroom and the real lake, we went to Le Cellier to see about having dinner. No by this time as you can imagine my five year old is just exhausted
and can barely stand:scared: my wife goes to the desk and asks about dinner seating, do you have an ADR she was asked, whats an ADR was her reply:eek: As my wife starts to tell me we are out of luck, the nice young Cm at the desk sees my son:scared: takes a look at him and tells my wife, we will find you a table. :dance3: They had turned some other folks away just before my wife, so I know they were full (this was in July)
It was just so great of that CM that Le Cellier became our favorite resturant and we made sure to make ADR's well in advance of our trip to have dinner there the next summer.:yay:

We have eaten twice at Le Cellier during the last year. Both dinners were wonderful - great food and interesting waiters. We never felt hurrier. We had small children with us and they enjoyed it, too. The restaurant has a great atmosphere.
