I currently have ps at Alfredo's for lunch, but after reading so many bad reports I think I'll change it. I'm debating between Le Cellier or Chefs de France for lunch. It'll only be dh and I. Any suggestions? :sunny:

Welcome to the DIS, ddiva! :welcome:

I had lunch at Alfredo's over the weekend, and it was the best meal of my trip! I got a ceasar salad, lasgna, and free chocolate mousse for my birthday. Everything was excellent. It was the best lasgna I've ever had.

I'm also a big fan of LeCellier. The food is fantastic. I love the filet mignon, and the cheddar cheese soup is outstanding.

I'm not a big fan of Chefs de France. I thought the food was mediocre at best, the service was horrible, and the portions small.

We just had an utterly great experience at Chefs de France, which has never failed to impress us. The food was great! This time we just went for lunch, but our past dinners there were utterly excellent -- the best available in the theme parks themselves. You won't regret it.

Unfortunately, we've had no such luck with Le Cellier. We've eaten there several times and it has failed to impress us. Once I had a steak so tough and grizzly, that I had to send it back, only to get a completely different steak, which was just as bad. The service is okay, there, though. The atmosphere is a little closed-in, but not too bad.

I'd do Chefs de France three times before I'd do Le Cellier again.

We're fans of lunch at Chefs too. Excellent food and service these days. Some years back the service wasn't up to WDW standards in our opinion but it is great again.

It is also a very pretty restaurant with great views of WS as you dine.

Le Cellier is very popular on the DIS but we have been unimpressed with the steaks. We've had wonderful service a couple of times but our last lunch there our server was horrible. Plus you're dining in a cellar so the view is nonexistant.

I would say neither for lunch but if I had to choose it would be Le Cellier.

I really like Le Cellier but I think they are better for dinner. The steaks are WONDERFUL. At lunch my prime rib sandwich was overcooked and so-so. Dinner - great. Lunch - pretty good.

Chefs de France I ate at for lunch and was much worse. C+ at the very best. The staff was slow and rude (but at least that way its just like Paris). The food was OK. Not great, not WOW, just OK. My HUGE beef is this - here we are in Paris and they serve OIL SPREAD!!!! Yup, no butter but a combo dairy product/oil spread patty. This is suppose to be FRANCE and there is NO BUTTER?! That was a HUGE sin. I told them to take that nasty oil thing off my plate and find me butter. They did but I had to ask.

Also the fruit for the desserts were canned. The portions were fine, not huge but not small. The entrees were bland and the creme brulee was so mediocre that it sent me on a quest to find the ultimate creme brulee with the hard sugar top. Believe me it was harder than it sounds. Citricos won.

My fav lunch places are Rose & Crown and Marrakesh.

Wow, Princess Aurora, we've always had butter at Chefs de France including earlier this month.

I've had good lunches at both Chefs de France and Le Cellier, no complaints. I dream about the goat cheese and tomato tarte I had at Chefs, so that's where I would pick out of the two.

I'd go for Le Cellier. It is one of our favorites and is must go to when we visit WDW.

Wow! It seems to be split down the middle. Decisions...decisions!!! Oh what to do.:confused3

You know, I first made reservations for July at LeCellier, but my 20YO daughter thought it didn't sound exciting enough since she had been to the real country of Canada several times. She loves the country, but with other options, wanted to try something different. After I read about the closeness and small dining room at LeCellier, I switched to Chefs de France. Now, the daughter can't wait to try the snails.

We usually pick our meals based on theming/atmosphere as opposed to the food. I guess that's why we always enjoy going to the Sci-Fi DineIn Theater.

We have done dinner at Les Chefs and it was wonderful. No complaints at all.

Hey did that help ya?

:rotfl2:

Sorry, too bad you have to choose, I really liked both places. Look at the menus on allearsnet.com, maybe that will help you decide. :goodvibes

Le Cellier

I agree! I've never tried Chefs de France but that's because I've heard too many negative reviews to risk using up one of my TS
