Le Cellier green beans...

Let me start by apologizing for all of these questions, but this is my first trip to Disney with so many feeding issues. Last time we went DS was 9 months old and things were just easier.

My question is regarding the green beans at LC. Are they soft and mushy or are they long and crisp? Last time we were there they had asparagus. Which is a go to food for DS. I see it is not on the menu and has been replaced with the Green Beans. If they are crisp, he would likely not be appalled at those and could possibly eat them.

My DD ate all the green beans on her plate, and she's very picky about green beans. They have to be at least a little crunchy. I'd have to ask her tonight to make sure, but my guess is they aren't mushy.

Thanks! That would be great!! I know it sounds crazy, but if it is on his plate and he doesn't "agree" with it, it will be thrown across the room. No amount of "cat like" reflexes can stop it. Trust me, I try! Which is why I like to go everywhere with a serious plan!!

She said they weren't as crunchy as when I make them, but they weren't mushy. I usually only steam them until they are just a little tender. Most people would think mine are way undercooked. Hope that helps.

We are from the South where green beans get cooked to a mush and I remember these being quite crunchy as are most of the veggies at WDW so hope you are in luck! Have loved checking out your blog. Hope this trip means that your husband is doing good!

It's not just a Southern thing. I'm from Ohio and my parents grew up here as well. I never knew until I was in college that "green" vegetables shouldn't be cooked until they are brown mush. So I rebelled against my mom and only cook my green vegetables until they are slightly tender, a bright green, and still crunchy.

Since you have a special need, when you order, you could ask your server to make sure they are crisp. And, by long, I think you mean you want them not cut?
If so, I would recommend mentioning that too.

Thanks. I just wanted to see if that was how they were served, because if they were canned green beans, I would have no say so in how they were prepared. Now that I know that they aren't, which I didn't think they were, but I would rather know than guess. I will be asking my server to please ask for an accommodation. I hear Disney is pretty awesome about this
