We have an ADR for 7:40 in October at LeCellier and were wondering if you think we'll be done in time to see Illuminations?

:confused3

I think you'll be done before 9:00. You might not have the best view, but you'll be out of the restaurant. Even if you wanted to linger longer, however, they will let you leave to see Illuminations and then allow you back in to finish. We were offered that a few years ago with an 8:10 ADR.

Remember to arrive at least 20 mins before your ADR's! We arrived right on time (for 6:20 ADR's) and sat for 25 mins. waiting to be seated:scared1: !

Our hostess told us we should always arrive early with ADR's, lesson learned:thumbsup2 !

Dinner was perfect, by the way, and we were out in less than an hour.

I'm going to say you'll probably miss it...chances are you wont sit till 8 then at least an hour for dinner...we take more like an hour and a half on average...even if you rush you wont have a good spot ....Might be better to stop by at 7:15 to 7:30 see if they can sit you a bit earlier

We normally allot 1 to 1 1/2 hours for table service meals. I would think that you would have time for your meal and time to see Illuminations. Like a previous poster said, you might not have the best "seat in the house" for Illuminations but you should finish in time to see the show.

We usually show up about 15 to 20 minutes prior to our ADRs. Last June, our ADR wasn't until 8:20 p.m. but it started to sprinkle rain and we headed over about 7:15 p.m. They told us we had to wait which we already knew. We were just trying to get there before it started to rain harder. We were very surprised when, just about 10 minutes later, they called our name and we were seated. They said it happens sometimes.

If you are near LeCellier earlier, you might want to stop by and ask if they could fit you in earlier. There may be a cancellation or no show.

Have a great trip and eat lots of good food! Lisa

Lisa & others, thanks for the tip/advise. We are staying at the BCV and will be at Epcot during the day. I think we'll show up a little early just to see if we can get in earlier but won't count on it.

We have seen IllumiNation several times but never get tired of it. Maybe we can get desert to go and have it in our room later.

Thanks again.

I'll chime in and add that I also was offered the chance to go and watch Illuminations and then come back in for dessert :-)

We had an 8:00 ADR once and weren't seated until 8:45 and didn't get finished eating until about 9:30 - after Illuminations.

You may be able to see it. You may not. Just keep that in mind, so you will not be disappointed. I made our ressies for 7:40. Did, not get seated until 8:35, and we were finished. By 9:45. As others have stated, it is doable. But, when we ate it was for free dining, and all resteraunts were packed. So, you never know. This year, are ressies, are for 6:50. Which I feel is plenty of time. To be able to view illuminations. Anyhow, enjoy your vacation!!:goodvibes

I don't think there is any chance at all that you'll make it in time. Unlike most of WDW restaurants which tend to seat you fairly close to your ADR time, Le Cellier tends to run behind. Everyone I've ever known who had an ADR there was seated late...VERY late. It's also one of the slower meals in terms of service.

I will dissent here, and say no as well.
Le Cellier always seems to be running behind, especially as the day goes on.
Even if you get seated close to 7:40, you still have to complete the meal and pay the tab before 9:00 p.m.
And if you do get out right at 9:00 p.m., you still have to find some kind of spot to watch from.

It could work out, but I wouldn't bet on it.
To increase your chances, my advice:

1 - arrive at least 20 minutes early (already suggested by others)
2 - tell your server as soon as they hit the table that you want to be out in time for Illuminations. That way, they will know you aren't wanting to dawdle.
(this has worked well for us in the past at other places, especially Spoodles)

and lastly 3 - have some idea of the menu, and what you may want to order. Sending the server away twice while you try to make up your mind will cost you precious time.

Just some ideas that we try to use, when we are pressed for time like that.
Best of luck, and have a great vacation.
